Pushing the door open and entering the building, you are meat with high ceilings, marble floors, and art everywhere. You feel like you have gone back in time to a time of ancient history of open hallways statues everywhere, different colour silk draping from the tall ceilings. You walk down the hall way with every step you take, you notice something, with the echo's of your shoes clicking on the marble floor filling the area up with clicks and clacks you notice you feet aren't as heavy as they have always been. Before, it felt like you were walking with cement shoes on dragging your heels along, trying to get to where you are going. But in here you're not getting that feeling you feel light with every step. You also notice you are not cold and wet from the rain anymore, your jacket is dry, your hair is dry, even your wet feet from walking through so many puddles before arriving are both dry. You think to yourself, "The central heating in this place must have been expensive, rich cunts" scared of saying it out loud in case anyone heard you saying it from the echo's this place emits. And scared you aren't meant to be in here and get thrown out like the trash you feel.
As you walk down the hall further you are met by so may painting all from different eras of time, different styles different artist. You are pretty sure you saw a Rembrandt and a Van Gogh on your travels. As you shuffle your way past all these master pieces, you are met by a voice "Hello" you turn in fear in case someone thinks of you as a thief. "Hellooo, do you have an appointment?" You peek around the corner and see a lady sitting behind a desk looking down at some papers. "You around the corner," you freeze scared she might call the police. "Yes you, hiding around the corner, do you have an appointment?" She says firmly, but her voice is sweet and calming at the same time. "Nnnnooo, I do not have an appointment, I'm sorry" you shakily responded with a quiver to you voice. Your body tenses up, your muscles are like rocks, you are petrified where you stand awaiting on what the lady says next. "Not a worries lovely, let me quickly check to see if i can slot you in right now" she swings her seat around towards the phone that sits on her desk, and ornate looking one with a white handle and looks to be gold inlays, cordless. she didn't dial any numbers she just picked the phone up and started talking, must be a two way telephone. odd thing is is that her desk, the chair the telephone are the only modern things in this place that i can see. the lights in this place look to be from the turn of the century. Theres a ornate looking clock on the ladys desk withe gold and looks to be shiney stomes in it aswell. Big beautiful chandeliers every where, but no light switch in sight. as you look around even more you notice two busts made from marble that sits ether side of a set of large decorated wooden doors. from what you see they are of the they look almost similar but one has a name on it when the other doesn't the name on the bust says "Dante Alighieri" you think to yourself "Hmm, fuck knows who he is"
before you can have a good look at the other bust you hear a sudden clank of the lady putting the phone down. You jump out your skin as the echo from the halls make the slightest little noise more amplified. she turns to you saying "Am sorry sweetheart, i didn't mean to scare you" with a warming tone of voice. you reply "its quite alright i am a very jumpy person nowadays" trying to play off the fact you nearly shit yourself. "you can head on in, Dr Virgil will see you the now". after her saying that the doors behind me that stood between the two bust opened up and the feeling you had when walking up the stairs outside, that pulling feeling wasn't there anymore, as if it was guiding me all the way to this moment to enter those doors Infront of you. the question that's running though your mind now is "do i enter or walk back though the halls and out the front doors instead" the question rattles around in your head for what feel like hours but was really only seconds. you decide to take a leap of faith, something felt different about this place you don't know what it is but you feel deep down inside you. "Ahhh fuck it, lets see who this Dr Virgin is" you say to yourself. "VIRGIL!, Dr Virgil is his name and he's right through there waiting for you", after hearing her correct me in that tone of voice it reminded me of teacher. stern and loud voice if you mess there name up. You straightened your back and quickly say "Yes Mrs" and shuffled you arse in through the doors without even thinking.
