Ch 26 Kwaintain

The distance between us has reduced so much since we met .
I remember when we were standing so close on the balcony on that ball night the emotions were all together so different, that time we were testing each other, unpuzzling each other , challenging each other .

But this time it was different, we were different, we were true, not like the mask we wore at that time , no we were real , genuine and that made me guilty because unlike her I wasn't being completely honest , that felt like betraying .
And in this moment where we stood surrounded by the warm sunset , she held my face in her hand which made me practically melt , our faces so close , our lips like magnets wishing to attach but this was wrong , wrong until she knows everything, after hearing how much she is willing to do for us , she deserves to know the truth.
I departed from her , painful yet necessary. I looked down for a moment to gather the courage and then looked straight into her confused eyes.

" There is something I didn't tell you Kira " I said to her as she looked at me , giving me a affirming look .

" You know I told you about my family being born dark element user , that's one half of the truth , the other is our origin
We are the descendants of the Royal Twilatia family , the one that had been banished centuries ago "
I blurted out the whole truth and it felt good in my own way, I quickly looked at her , only to see a mixed reaction on her face .
She was baffled and why would she not , if she was taught about the history records, she would know the complete story during the Emperor Harrium's regime , the side of the story from their kingdom's perspective.

Kirandra's pov

I was shocked , confused for what he said to me , the Twilatia Royal family, the family that allegedly caused Emperor Harrium's death , the destruction of Empress Sophelia's home , the stealer of my kingdom's possession the Prime stone . That's what I was taught in the history lesson, that's what Empress Sophelia told me , her hatred towards the people that caused her mother's death was very evident and I could relate to her , feel her pain .

The man in front of me was their descendants, from the traitors family , was everything he did till now a lie , a facade to manipulate me, to clear his family's name and I felt foolish for sending Esther to Moonhaven , to the royals that hid there with a completely different identity.

" So All of this was a lie , a manipulative strategy to clear your family's name , your family's status "

I said , tears threatening to spill down my eyes , I still couldn't believe he would betray me , use me like all other did , my words were different from my thoughts. I wanted him to explain to me and so he did .

" No I didn't Kira , I never cared about our status, our name I care about my people and the false allegations that were put up on my family , all that you were taught wasn't entirely true , it is not what it seems like , please listen to me "
he begged me and my heart felt it wanted to hear , to still trust him , know his side of the story, give him and chance and so I spoke.

" Fine , then explain to me , tell me everything honestly " I stated to him, stabilizing my voice and gaining back my posture.

Some hope lit in his eyes and just when he was about to speak when he looked upwards in horror and before I could look in the same direction, he leapt towards me and slid me to the side as we both fell on the ground he shielding me as the ground beside me was crashed by an object , a space ship .

" Are you okay ? " He said worried looking into my eyes while cupping my face .

" Yes I am fine , what was that about ? "
I said to him removing his hand from my face as he took a step back while I tried to not have an eye contact, I needed to have firm posture before knowing the complete truth and his eyes were my weakness.
