Bridget's smile faltered as she noticed the nervous tension in James' posture. "Hey James, what did you want to talk about?" she asked, doing her best to keep her tone light, the box of freshly baked cupcakes hidden behind her back.

James took a deep breath, his brow furrowed with worry. "Listen, I have to tell you something, and I'd appreciate if you didn't interrupt me." He paused, running a hand through his ruffled hair, the weight of his words evident in his tired expression.

Bridget's heart began to race, a sense of foreboding creeping into her mind as she nodded in response.

"When you came to me to apologize for putting the cupcakes on me, the only reason I even let you in my room, and the only reason I started to hang around you, was because I was supposed to get you to fall for me so I could humiliate you at the dance in front of everyone. It was Uliana's plan," James confessed, his gaze downcast.

Bridget felt the world slow to a standstill as the realization sank in. "W-wait, so everything was just to fool me?" she asked, her voice trembling. She could feel the tears threatening to spill, a lump forming in her throat.

James took a step closer, but Bridget instinctively took one back, her grip tightening on the box behind her back. "Wait, listen, I'm so sorry. At first, I did it because I'm a villain, but..." He trailed off, struggling to find the right words.

Bridget's hands emerged from behind her back, the cupcakes she had so lovingly prepared now in her grasp. "These were for you," she said, her voice thick with emotion. Without further hesitation, she pulled one of the cupcakes from the box and smashed it against James' shirt. "That wasn't an accident," she declared, her eyes shining with a mixture of hurt and betrayal.

Bridget dropped the box, the remaining cupcakes tumbling to the ground, and turned to walk away, her heart shattering with each step. James watched her leave, frozen in place, the guilt and regret weighing heavily on his soul. "Fuck, I need to fix this. I didn't get to tell her the rest. I should've told her how I fell in love with her," he muttered to himself, cursing his own foolishness.

As Bridget's footsteps faded into the distance, James' mind raced, desperate to find a way to make things right. He had fallen for Bridget, his feelings genuine and pure.

As Bridget made her way back to her dorm, her steps heavy with the weight of James' confession, the once joyful cupcakes now a symbol of her shattered dreams. The irony of the future Queen of Hearts having her own heart broken was not lost on her.

Bridget collapsed onto her bed, the tears she had fought back now flowing freely. It was all fake - the kiss, the date, the way they would talk about their futures. She couldn't understand how James could have faked the way he looked at her, the baking lessons they had shared after school almost every day. Had it all been a lie?

Three days until the dance, and Bridget no longer had the desire to go. As much as she hated this feeling, she found that she couldn't be angry at James. Never angry at him. The truth was, she loved him. Bridget was just confused, her mind racing with unanswered questions. Why did James seem so sad? Why had he chosen to hurt her in this way?

Curling up on her bed, Bridget needed the comfort of solitude, to process the turmoil of emotions overwhelming her. She just wanted to be alone for a bit, to make sense of this unexpected betrayal.

Meanwhile, James Hook hurried back to his room, his shirt stained with the remnants of Bridget's cupcake. He felt terrible, but he wasn't done yet. He needed to tell Uliana that he had broken Bridget's heart, so that she would leave Bridget alone. The old James would have been triumphant, having successfully completed his villainous mission, but he had changed since meeting Bridget.

Bridget was the best thing that had ever happened to him, and he was determined to make things right. Seeing her cry had been the worst thing he had ever experienced, and he felt like a mess, having never before been so affected by a girl. He knew he had to confess the truth to Bridget , he had to tell her he loved her,to tell her that during the evil plan he'd had fallen for her for real, to beg for her forgiveness, before she could hate him more than she might've  already did.

With that James went to sleep , planning to try to speak to Bridget and talk to Uliana and even leave her group the next morning.
