Before this chapter starts I would like to say there is just a lot of fluff in this! So prepare lol

The evening of the dance arrived, and Bridget stood before the mirror, her heart fluttering with a mix of excitement and nerves. She had taken extra care with her appearance, curling her hair into delicate waves and donning a breathtaking gown that accentuated her natural beauty.

As the sound of a knock at the door reached her ears, Bridget felt a familiar thrill course through her. She knew it could only be one person – her dashing pirate suitor, James Hook. With a deep breath, she opened the door and was immediately awestruck.

There stood James, his usual pirate attire exchanged for a well-tailored suit, complete with his signature leather jacket. Bridget felt her cheeks flush as their eyes met, and she couldn't help but marvel at how handsome he looked.

"Bridget, you... you look absolutely stunning," James murmured, his voice filled with reverence. Reaching into his pocket, he withdrew a delicate necklace, the ruby-encrusted rose pendant glittering in the soft light. "I, uh, I wanted to give you this. As a token of my affection."

Bridget's breath caught in her throat as James carefully draped the necklace around her neck, his calloused fingers grazing her skin and causing her to shiver. "Oh, James, it's beautiful," she breathed, her eyes shining with grateful adoration.

Clearing his throat, James presented her with a bouquet of vibrant red roses. "And these are for you, my dear. I hope they bring you as much joy as you bring me."

Bridget accepted the flowers, her heart swelling with love and appreciation for this man who had once been her sworn enemy. "They're perfect, James. Thank you."

Hand in hand, they made their way to the castle, the air alive with the sounds of laughter and music. As they stepped onto the dance floor, Bridget looked up at James, her expression radiant.

"I don't see Ella anywhere," she remarked, her brow furrowing with concern. "I hope she's alright."

James squeezed her hand reassuringly. "I'm sure she's fine, darling. Perhaps the fairy godmother(forgot her name in the movie) has paid her a visit.

Bridget chuckled, the worry in her eyes giving way to a playful sparkle. "You know, I've never been to a school dance before. This is all new to me."

"Well, then allow me the honor of being your guide, my love," James murmured, pulling her close as they swayed to the music. "I promise to make this the most enchanting evening you've ever experienced."

Bridget rested her head against his chest, a contented sigh escaping her lips. "I know you will, James. And I can't wait to see what other surprises you have in store."

As the music swelled and the dancers twirled gracefully across the ballroom floor, Bridget couldn't help but glance over at Charming. The prince seemed uncharacteristically bored, his expression tinged with a hint of restlessness.

Bridget felt a pang of sympathy for him. "Poor Charming," she murmured to James, her brow furrowed with concern. "He doesn't look like he's enjoying himself."

Just then, a flurry of movement at the top of the staircase caught her eye. There, descending with all the elegance of a true princess, was Ella, her blue gown shimmering under the chandeliers' warm glow.

Bridget's face lit up with delight. "Ella!" she exclaimed, slipping from James' embrace to greet her friend. "Your dress is absolutely stunning! What happened?"

Ella's cheeks flushed with a mixture of embarrassment and joy. "My step-mother ruined the dress you so kindly bought for me," she confessed, her voice tinged with a hint of exasperation. "But the fairy godmother came through and worked her magic. I'm just relieved to be here."

Bridget pulled Ella into a warm hug, her heart swelling with happiness for her friend. "I'm so glad you made it," she said, her eyes sparkling with affection.

As the two young women embraced, Bridget couldn't help but notice the way Charming's gaze had fixed upon Ella, his expression transforming from one of boredom to pure enchantment.

Sensing a shift in the air, James gently steered Bridget back into his arms, a hint of possessiveness in his movements. "Shall we continue our dance, my love?" he murmured, his eyes smoldering with a quiet intensity.

Bridget couldn't help but smile, recognizing the subtle jealousy that had sparked in her pirate suitor. "Of course, James," she replied, pressing herself closer to him as they swayed to the music.

The rest of the evening was filled with laughter, music, and an ever-growing sense of camaraderie. Charming, his spirits lifted by Ella's radiant presence, was a far more engaging dance partner, while Bridget and James reveled in the warmth and security of each other's embrace.

As the night drew to a close, Bridget couldn't help but feel a deep sense of gratitude. Surrounded by the people she loved, she knew that this enchanting evening would be one she would cherish for years to come.
