Nate woke up disappointed to find only Marco nearby. Although Marco said Julian only went home to change clothes, it turned out that he did not return until nightfall.

"No, I can't leave you here alone." Marco refused when Nate told him to go home.

"I'm better now. You've been here all day. You have to go to work tomorrow, so you can't get sick from accompanying me." Nate insisted.

"It's because I'm not your ex-husband, right? You let him stay here for days, while you don't want me to do it for you."

Nate bit her lip. "I didn't know he was the one who looked after me all this time. I would have told him to go home if he was still here," she replied. "Come on, don't keep arguing with me. It's a pity for Frida if you get sick too."

Marco finally danced to her tune after making sure that Nate would contact him instead of Julian if she ever needed any help. After Marco left, Nate grabbed her phone, and texted Julian to ask where he was. However, he still didn't reply to her message. Julian only answered the phone after countless call.

"You haven't slept yet? The night has fallen, though," asked Julian.

"You weren't here when I woke up. Why didn't you come back?" Nate couldn't hide her disappointment.

"Sorry, I forgot. I went to the office earlier today because I had work to do."

Nate was silent for a moment. "Right. You've been away from work for a few days. It's better for you not to come here anymore."

"I'll go there early tomorrow morning."

"No. I've asked Marco to go home too. I don't wanna be a bothersome for both of you."

"Why did he leave you alone? I entrusted you with him earlier."

"Why? I'm not an object that can be entrusted to someone."

"I told your mother that I would take care of you while you were here," said Julian. "I don't really mind because you're like family to me, but I hope you take better care of yourself and your own health."

"Mum doesn't care about me. So you don't have to worry about her being mad at you for not taking care of me." Nate muttered, choked. "I only called you because you didn't come back after you said you weren't going anywhere."

Julian felt a pain in his chest as he heard Nate sobs. No, don't cry. Julian sighed.

"Matilda, we're divorced now. Do you think I won't have a hard time getting away from you if I'm always around you?" asked Julian. "Like I said yesterday, I can accompany you because I happen to be in the same place as you. Then, what if we're far apart, like that time? Or if you're seeing someone already? Or if I have my own partner? You can't keep going like this."

Nate didn't reply. She ended the call and covered her head with the blanket. She didn't know that Marco was still behind the door, watching her all this time. Although he was disappointed because Nate wanted Julian there more, Marco stayed with her outside the room all night.

Meanwhile, Julian put his phone on the carpet. He laid back down. He couldn't tell Nate that he had been lying helplessly on the sofa all day. Actually, Julian had planned to go back to the hospital. But his condition worsened, and he decided to rest at home. He started feeling unwell ever since he started looking after Nate in the hospital. Because besides taking care of Nate, Julian also had to keep doing his job.

Julian only informed Sophie who immediately came that afternoon to bring him food and medicine. Julian didn't want Nate to worry about him, but she didn't want him to take care of her anymore now. Julian didn't know whether to feel relieved or sad about it.
