¤ 35 - Chance

Nate stretched. Her heart pounded as she realised she was sleeping in Julian's arms. A smile spread across her face. Her whole body was worn out, but she felt like she had never woken up feeling happier than this.

"Morning."

Nate looked up and saw Julian smiling at her. Her face flushed as she remembered how hot their lovemaking had been last night. Who would have thought Julian would be so arousing now? He was so good at making Nate reach her climax over and over again, even in ways that she had never experienced before. He was more familiar with various positions too so they made love all night long, leaving them too exhausted to move to the bedroom, and ended up falling asleep on the couch.

"Sovit gott?" Julian asked, making Nate's brow furrow. "That means, did you sleep well? You've been living here for months, you should learn more Swedish."

"I know the sentences for everyday use, you know," Nate grumbled. "Have you ever asked someone like that?"

"Of course. I'd use it If I'm away on business that requires me to stay overnight with my coworkers. I've never woken up with someone next to me like this."

"Even with Rachel?"

"Even with Rachel. I never stayed to sleep or spend the night with her. I always went home after having intercourse with her."

There was still a pain in her heart every time Nate remembered Julian had done it with Rachel. "So, you never made love to her in this house?"

"I told you, it wasn't love making," Julian kissed Nate's lips in adorable way. "No, we didn't do that here. I don't like bringing people into my personal space."

"But you invite me here often."

"Because it's yours too. You even have my key."

Nate smiled in Julian's arms. "Is that why you don't have a contraceptive here?"

"Why should I keep them?"

"You didn't use it with Rachel?"

"Of course she had to prepare it if she wanted to do it with me. I wouldn't want to do it with her raw."

"Then, what about me? Should I prepare it every time I wanna do it with you?"

"You wanna use it with me?"

Nate looked at Julian confused. "Well, what if I'm in my fertile period? And then, this is related to health too."

"Have you ever done it with another man besides me and... him?"

Nate shook her head. "I always used it when I'm with Keith too."

"So, you don't have to worry. I always have a medical check-up every year, and I'm clean. If you're thinking about having a baby... well, that means we're going to have another child, right?"

Nate looked at Julian. Did that mean he was okay with starting a family with her again? She ran her fingers through his hair. Let me be with you again, and I'll love you for the rest of my life.

"You have piercings." Nate rubbed Julian's earlobe with her thumb.

"I used to be a member of a band," Julian replied in a proud tone. He rubbed Nate's collarbone. "You don't wear it anymore either."

"What?"

"Your necklace."

"I kept it after you saw it the other day. Sorry. I only elt closed to you when the ring was near me, but I can't wear it on my finger anymore."

"I threw mine in the canal not long after I moved to this town. Then, after you asked me about our wedding photo album, I thought about burning everything that reminded me of you."
