On the following morning, Jack woke up early. He was in a good mood.
"Master Gibbs. Prepare the boat we're going to the port!" Jack carried a bundle of cloth in his hand, he was humming a song.
"Yer in a good mood today, Sire."
"Don't ruin it, Mr. Gibbs. We're going to me parents. Don't say anything about Gabriela or I'll cut yer tongue."
Mr. Gibbs swallowed hard and looked at Jack "Me lips are sealed, Sire!"
They got on the long boat and some men took them to the port. They walked to Jack's parents' house. Uncle Jack and 'Ace' were there talking to his father. His grandma was there, too.
"Hello, son" His mom ran to him. She kissed him and embraced him tight. Jack covered the chick where Gabriela had kissed him the day before."
"Hello, Mom. Please you're smothering me! Let go of me."
"Jackie, what are ye doing at home?" Edward asked
"I need to take a bath. Mom, can I leave me dirty clothes?"
They all looked at Jack in awe.
"Jackie are ye alright, son?" Edward asked worriedly.
"Can't a man have a bath?" Jack retorted.
His mother prepared the bath for him, while Jack talked to his relatives. They looked at Mr. Gibbs for answers but he played dumb.
When the bath was ready Jack left, not before giving a warning look at Mr. Gibbs so he kept his mouth shut about his affairs.
As soon as Jack left, Mr. Teague checked he was indeed away and could not hear. Then he asked Mr. Gibbs to spill everything he knew.
"I know as much as ye do. After we got back, he went to Señorita Gabriela's house. When he returned he had that stupid smile on his face. He covered his left cheek on the way back to The Pearl, this morning he woke up jolly, and asked me to bring him here."
"So, all this has to do with the Spanish lass..." Uncle Jack chuckled.
"Shhh, Jack told me, not to say anything about the lass. I cannot talk to ye. Don't get me in trouble."
They smiled and changed the subject. When Jack returned, the men talked about the burning ships they saw the night before and their encounter with The Terror of the Seven Seas.
He looked dashing in his new clothes. It was the clothes Gabriela had sewed for him. He was even wearing cologne. Maybe a bit too much cologne.

Gabriela woke up early, had breakfast, and wrote a message for the Governor of Havana. She went outside. She asked for her falcon. Moments later it was brought to her. She caressed it, rolled the message, and attached it to its leg; then set the falcon free. She saw the bird fly away until it disappeared into the sky. Soon her message would reach Gregorio.
Catalina was busy today Anne Bonny would come to help Gabriela with some errands. Gabriela and Anne had talked quite a lot the previous night. Gabriela was very methodic. She gave her First Mate, Juan Manuel de las Casas y Salamanca a list of things for him to do. She just needed to take care of the last details.
She was in deep thought, contemplating the sea when Fermin disturbed her.
"He is not on The Pearl. One of his men told me he went to his parents."
"Have you got directions to get there?"
"Yes, do you want me to go?"
"Take Fernando, let him wait in the dock with Jack's men. Give him Jack's present and take something to share with the men. You go to his parents and see if Uncle Jack is there. Tell him I need to talk to him. Don't let others know. Follow him and talk to him when he is alone."
