Chapter-14

Anne was curled up alone in her room, a wave of sadness washed over her. Thoughts of today's events that unfolded, it consumed her mind. She had moved on from the past, but it seemed to have a way of resurfacing, but not with the person she truly desired, her husband. His sudden departure left her bewildered and longing for answers. Everything had been so blissful in their life together and she couldn't understand why he would leave her so abruptly especially after promising to be with her forever.

In the beginning, she had some doubts about their relationship but over time as Yoongi had said, her feelings for him grew stronger. All she wanted was him, and only him. Two years had passed and yet there was no sign of him. He had helped her move on from Jungkook but now she found herself in need of someone to help her move on from him. The love she had for her husband was so deep that even seeing Jungkook reminded her of him. His unexpected departure unknowingly left her with trust issues as if her heart had been broken twice - first by Jungkook and now by Yoongi.

Her gaze shifted towards a picture placed nearby on the table and a sense of gloominess filled her eyes as she saw the image of Yoongi and herself both dressed in wedding attire. She couldn't help but stare at the picture feeling the weight of uncertainty and sadness in her heart. In a soft whisper, she uttered words filled with longing and doubt.

“I don't even know if you remember me”

Next day Jungkook was in his office and picked up the call as it rang. He answered it without looking at the caller id and recognised the person on call, it was jimin. “Jungkook, Are you free?”. Jungkook hummed through looking at laptop and stopped typing and leaned back on the chair as Jimin uttered. “Can you come to the hospital, actually the doctor has to ask you something”. “Okay”.

Jungkook nodded while answering and ended the call before putting it inside his pocket and stood up before taking the suit which was hanging on the back of the chair. He straddled outside while looking at his wrist watch. He was thinking what he would say to his mother if she asked about Ellie. He didn't want Ellie to visit the hospital but his mother was insisting on him because she liked Ellie like her daughter. He sighed and saw his driver was already there. He opened the door for his boss as Jungkook settled inside the car.

Later he reached the hospital and saw Jimin was already waiting for him outside the hospital. Jimin saw Jungkook and approached him. “What do they want to talk about?”. Jimin shrugged his shoulders and spoke. “I don't know but your mother said to call you”. Jungkook nodded while fixing his suit and asked while walking. “Where is Taehyung”. “He's with your parents”. Jungkook walked passed corridors and his ear caught as Jimin spoke hesitantly. “Do you know Anne also works here”. Jungkook sighed internally and nodded answering in a firm voice. “I know it”. Jimin nodded slowly before they reached the room and Jungkook opened the door only to realize Anne was the only one there while his father was sleeping.

"Anne, where are the others?”. Anne turned around holding some medicines and smiled a little at Jimin before saying. “They were hungry so they're gone to eat something, you can join them too as the doctor will take some time to come”. Jungkook looked at her but she didn't look at him for once which somehow hurt him because she talked to jimin just like she used to do in their university days. Jungkook looked at Jimin who smiled at Anne but his eyes moved to Jungkook accidentally and his smile dropped seeing Jungkook's intense gaze.

Anne was doing her work while Jimin sat on the couch slowly looking away from Jungkook who followed him too because he had no other option. “How much time will the doctor take?”. Jungkook asked with his serious tone and Anne answered without looking at him but her tone was too different from the way she talked to jimin. “I'm not sure about it Mr Jeon, but I'm sure he will arrive soon”.  She was just trying to focus on her work, while Jimin and Jungkook were there, making things a bit complicated. Jungkook seemed frustrated by Anne's change in behavior towards him especially since she used to pay him so much attention. "Did you guys have a conversation with her?”. Jungkook whispered and Jimin nodded in return. Jimin and Anne were having a friendly chat which didn't sit well with Jungkook.
