As soon as Mandy got home, she undid her minty green bunches and brushed her hair, trying to forget everything that had happened. She would probably need some help from Berry to cope with her feelings since Chester isn't there anymore... But at least Chester isn't annoying her with spamming messages in the middle of the night, right?

She completed her nightly routine (shower, pajamas, etc.) before lying in bed and looking up at her ceiling.

That's when she heard her phone ringing on the bedside table. She sighed as she picked up the phone without checking who was calling.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Mandy. Are you free by any chance?"

Mandy thought about it for a few seconds. Colette?

"I mean, I don't have any plans for tonight. Why?"

"Wanna come over for a sleepover?"

"Is Chester coming?"

That question came out entirely on its own.

"I still have to ask him..."

Mandy hesitated. If Chester were to go, she would have to avoid him the same way he avoided her, and people would question what was going on. On the other hand, maybe it was all meant to be—the sleepover, she meant.

"Who else is coming?"

"It's just me and Edgar. We're getting bored, and you guys are our closest friends. Spike is asleep, and Bibi's probably doing something with Crow and Bull. Emz is sleeping over at Poco's because he lives near a nail salon she wants to visit tomorrow."

"Ah, okay. See you there then..? I wanna come."

"Great! Bring some sweets, ah?"

She giggled before hanging up the phone.

Mandy sighed. After a minute or two, after looking absolutely nowhere, she finally got out of bed and packed some cherry sweets for Colette.

After some minutes of walking to Colette's, she reached her front porch and knocked on her door.

Edgar opened the door, and once he saw her, he smirked and chuckled after he commented:

"Mandy! Looking fancy."

Mandy smiled at his sarcasm.

"Yeah..."

"Come in."

Mandy entered Colette's bedroom, where she spotted Colette and Chester laughing and playing a board game.

Once Mandy looked at the two, a pang of some odd emotion hit her. Was it sadness? Anger? ... Jealousy?

Chester hasn't noticed her yet. She carefully placed the sweets next to Colette and approached Edgar, who already made his way to the bean bags in the corner of the room. She sat next to him and couldn't keep her eyes off of Chester, how he was laughing with Colette. His back was turned to her, and she could notice them gradually getting closer and closer to play.

Mandy couldn't help but feel jealous. She was sure that was what she was feeling. She crossed her arms and leaned back against the wall.

Edgar noticed her expression. He turned to her.

"You okay, Mand?"

"Yeahhh.. Just thinking about something."

"Okay..."

Mandy kept staring at Chester. His laugh was adorable, she thought, but she lost that. Too bad, Mandy. Too bad...

Edgar, who wasn't blind, clearly saw through Mandy like an open book. The only pages he was missing were what was going on and what she was genuinely feeling—but at least he could tell something was wrong.

He gently wrapped the scarf he wore on his neck around her neck, which made Mandy turn around to him.

The scarf was soft, so Mandy put it more to her liking around her neck as she slightly cuddled into it.

"It's soft. Thank you."

Edgar smiled at her and nodded at her. Then he put a more serious expression on his face.

"Are you certain you're okay though? You don't seem..."

He looked over at Chester and Colette, high-fiving each other.

"...Fine."

A moment of silence passed between them, and Mandy thought of a response.

She approached Edgar and whispered everything that had happened in his ear, explaining it the same way she had explained it to Berry.

Once she pulled away, Edgar opened his arms, offering a hug. Mandy hesitated momentarily before hugging him, to which he hugged her back.

"It's alright... I'm sure it'll get resolved."

He pat Mandy on the head. Mandy nodded, meaning she thanked him.

Once Chester and Colette's game was over, Colette noticed the bag of sweets next to her. She looked around and saw Mandy behind her.

"Thanks, Mandy!"

She said with a smile loud enough for Chester to hear. Almost immediately, Chester turned around. Seeing Mandy in Edgar's arms made his blood boil for some reason.

Mandy pulled away from Edgar and muttered a simple "thank you" before looking at the time. It was only 11 PM.

Edgar looked at Colette, to which Colette looked back at him. He gestured to the door with his eyes. Colette nodded, and both left the room to talk, leaving Mandy and Chester alone.

She turned to the mirror to avoid looking at Chester and started doing her hair. She couldn't go anywhere without her hair bands, so she put her hair up. She began to make a braid out of her hair, securing it with a second hair band.

Looking at herself, Mandy couldn't help but notice Chester peeking at what she was doing occasionally through the mirror. At that moment, Mandy didn't think much of it and kept doing what she needed to do.

Then, Chester turned away wholly, scrolling on his phone.

After about 10 minutes, Edgar and Colette returned from their little chat. Seeing us not even looking at each other made them sad, considering that since Mandy has her hair in a braid, Chester would sometimes help her with that and put a cute little hair clip on top.

Edgar and Colette exchanged looks, thinking about how things would go now. Edgar finally found out the truth... But what did Chester think about this?
