Sorry, I love you

A human and a wolf. That is what we are. We were not meant to meet, to feel such a strong connection tying us to each other. Everything happened too fast between us and everything was too strong from the start. But I never imagined all that that link implied. I knew what he was from the start. A wolf. An Alpha. He'd never hidden his true nature.

At first we were just friends who flirted, found any excuse to brush against the other's hands, to brush against each other. To touch each other. We quickly became much more...

I'm coming home after a night out with friends. I find him sitting on my doorstep.

"Chris?"

He raises his head. His eyes are an unusual shade, a color close to blood red. Since we've known each other, I have never seen any sign of his wolf. During a conversation, he explained the differences between eye colors. Betas, regular wolves, had golden eyes, while Alphas had red eyes. He gets back up and takes my hands. I let him, knowing that physical touch is natural among wolves.

"I can't..." His voice is hoarse, like a growl.

"I can't let you get away from me without going crazy... Without my inner wolf wanting to fight anyone who'd try to come close to you..."

His fingers and mine are intertwined.

"I can't bear to smell anyone else on you... It drives me crazy..."

I hold his hands tighter in mine before whispering "Kiss me..."

I've been waiting for this moment since the start. Since we first met. He gets closer to me, our hands still intertwined, and I press my lips against his. I seek his tongue and pull him into a long kiss. My heart beats fast in my chest. I can feel butterflies in my belly. Our kiss becomes more urgent, more intense. I end up wrapping my arms around his neck while his wrap around my hips. Our breaths are burning hot. Our tongues keep seeking each other, stroke each other, pushing against each other. As I bit his lip, I hear him growl. He breaks our kiss. The color of his eyes has become more intense, brighter.

"Stop... I won't be able to control myself..."

I let go of him, slightly disappointed.

"You and your wolf will have to learn how to better handle your emotions!"

He smiles and the dimple I love so much appears.

I brush my nose against his and whisper "If you don't leave right now, I'm the one who won't be able to control myself..."

He smiles an even bigger smile and strokes my cheek. I leave one last kiss on his lips.

"Chris? Can you leave me your sweater?" He looks at me questioningly. "The smell... I ... This way... You won't be able to smell anyone else on me... Just your own..."

He bites his lips. "Thank you..."

He takes his sweater off and hands it to me. I catch a whiff of his odor. I can feel desire rising inside of me. My belly contracts.

"That's pheromones' fault..." he announces laughing.

"You... could smell that?"

"I can know everything that you feel just by how you smell..."

"Then leave right now..."

He's still laughing as he leaves.

I go home, shower and put on his sweater. A new wave of desire overwhelms me. I mentally curse him. I can picture him laughing and that sends new butterflies in my belly. As I am about to go to bed, someone knocks. Chris is standing at my door. I am surprised to see him, but my heart fills with joy. The look in his eyes is much more intense than when he left, less than an hour ago.

"Fuck... I want you so much..."

It is my turn to smile. I grab him by his tee-shirt and bring him inside. We kiss passionately, not holding back anymore. We make love several time...

"I'm sorry, Y/N... I love you..."

I did not understand what he meant. I only understood when we broke each other. At first, I did not entirely get the concept of love among wolves. I did not entirely get the havoc it would wreak in him, in myself and within the pack.
