Y/n's pov

*I am guided into a small room. It has dark brown wooden flooring, a range of brown walls, a small sofa and two chairs, a window with wiring on it. Wiring, that means someone had tried to escape before through the window. I mean, I don't blame them, for the outer district's going into the hunger games would be your worst nightmare. I hear the door open. Before I could even turn around, I feel two small arms around my waist. Elsie.*

"Y/n, don't go. Please, I don't want you to go. I don't want to have to say goodbye." She says against my back. *I turn in her arms to look at her and wrap my arms around her, stroking her hair.*

"I know, Elsie. I know. But there is nothing we can do about it now." I say, trying to calm her. *I suddenly feel two pairs of arms around me. My parents.*

"Y/n, please, promise us you'll try your best to come back." My mum says on the brink of tears.

"I-I promise I'll try my best." I stuter wraping an arm around my mum.

"Y/n. You always talk about how you love Johanna Mason. Be like her, play the weak district 7 girl, I know you have the strength and skills with an axe to fight of the last few tributes at the end." My dad says to me. *I look towards him and slightly nod my head. He comes closer and hugs me, I hug him back. We all stay like that for a few seconds.*

"Y/n." Elsie says, pulling away holding her bracelet.

"Remember what you told me. 'As long as you have the bracelet, you'll be safe', now your necklace will keep you safe." Elsie repeats what I told her earlier. *A tear slides down my face. I crouch down to her height, and I hug her*

"Yeah, let's just hope the butterfly protects me." I quietly mutter.

"Times up." A peacekeeper announces as he comes into the room.

"Good luck." My parents say almost in unison. *My parents start to walk away, but when Elsie doesn't follow, the peacekeeper steps into the room and grabs one of her arms and drags her out.*

"NO! One more minute. Y/N! Goodbye!" Elsie shouts as she is dragged out of the room. *Before I even get a second to process what happened, the door flies open. I see a familiar blond come in.*

"Y/n!" Izzy says, running towards me, pulling me into a hug.

"Izzy." I say slightly, chuckling. *I wrap my arms around her. She pulls her body back but still has her arms wrapped around me.*

"You can do this. You have to do this." Izzy says, as she then grabs my hands.

"Remember our conversation this morning. Out of the three of us, you're more likely to come back out." She says sadly smiling, and my eyes fill with tears.

"Yeah, but that doesn't mean I will come out." I say, a tear falling down my face.

"Y/n. Don't say that. Promise me you'll at least try your best." Izzy says, a few tears now falling down her face.

"Yeah. Yeah, I know. I promise I'll try my best." I say back to her, more tears spilling out.

"Well, just think. If it all goes to shit, find yourself a strong guy and ally with him." Izzy says slightly, smiling.

"How do you think I'm going to get a randomo to ally with me." I say laughing slightly.

"Well, persuade him, you can be sexy." Izzy says in a firey way.

"So that's my new plan. Go around and flirt with all the stronger guys and ally with them, and then break their hearts and kill them." I say, wiping my tears away while laughing.

"Well, yeah. Might as well have some fun." She says laughing.

"You're crazy. You know that." I say laughing now.

"But you still love me." Izzy says laughing.

"Nah. I really hate you, dont I?" I say sarcastically. *I see Izzy slightly chuckle at my response.*

"But seriously, you might need a strong guy to help you get through the last few tributes. Especially because they'll be getting ancy and want to go home." Izzy says with a now serious face. *The door opens, and a peacekeeper steps in.*

"Times up." The peacekeeper announces.

"Promise me you'll try your best and come back." Izzy says, starting to walk out.

"I'll try my best to come back." I say as the door shuts. *I finally sit down on the sofa, wiping the remaining few tears away. It's not long till the door opens again. The tall but friendly brunette steps in. I jolt up, the one person who I wanted to speak to the most.*

"Logan!" I practically shout.

"Y/n!" Logan shouts back. *I wrap my arms around him, him doing the same to me. I lay my head on his shoulder.*

"Logan?" I ask quietly.

"Yeah?" He replies.

"I know we don't want to think about it, but of I di -" I start.

"- Y/n. Don't say it." Logan interrupts. *I pause.*

"Logan, we have to be serious." I say, pulling away from the hug.

"But you need to promise me one thing. If I do die in that arena, or something brutal happens.....Please promise me you won't let Elsie watch. She's too young to watch something brutal, let alone even be in the games." I admit to Logan.

"Okay." He says sadly.

"While I'm gone, and if I don't return. Please look after Lexi, Elsie, and my parents. And do whatever it takes, for Elsie's name to not have to be in that bowl more than it needs to be. " I say seriously.

"I promise that until you return -" Logan starts.

"- Logan, be realistic. It's not guaranteed I won't come back in a wooden box." I interrupt, tears forming in my eyes.

"I know, but we can at least hope. Until you return, I promise to look after them all." He finishes.

"Thank you." I say, pulling him back into a hug, tears start falling down my face again.

"And to prevent you from coming back in a box, you'll have little food in the arena. You'll need to learn to survive with little food and ration it." He says. *The door opens again.*

"Times up." The peacekeeper announces... again. *Logan starts to leave. Turning around to face me before walking out the door mouthing, "Until you return.". The door shuts. I sit on the sofa, and because im not expecting anyone else, I start to plan out how I'm going to do this. Okay, so mum said to try to come back. Elsie told me that the butterfly will protect me. Dad said to act like Johanna. Izzy said to seduce a guy. Logan said he'll look after everyone while I'm gone and to learn how to ration food. Okay, so for the actual social part, the simplest thing is to act like Johanna did. Okay, so how to do that. On the train, when I'm not having food, I'll practically always be in my room pre planning everything. In front of people, I'll act as though I'm scared but trying not to be scared. And for my own sanity im going to try my best to know as little about the other tributes personal life as I can, the more I know about them as a person the harder it will be to kill them. Suddenly, I'm interrupted from my thoughts when the door opens again.*

"Let's go." A peacekeeper says loudly. *This time, there are two instead of one. I get up and start to walk towards them, the one who spoke, grabs my left arm and the other my right. We walk out the building and into a car where I see Wallace Ly. I'm pretty sure his name is, and Evangeline, our escort. We get in the car and start to go to the train station.*

Don't forget, if I've made mistakes, feel free to correct me.

I hope you enjoyed!
