"कहते हैं ख़ुदा ने इस जहाँ में सब ही के लिए,
किसी न किसी को है बनाया हर किसी के लिए।"

Ishita's POV
Mummy yaar meri black wali shirt kidhar hai. Time pe iss ghar mein kuch ni milta.
"Konsi wali black shirt? Saare kapde to black ya white hi h tere paas. Bilkul Teri love life ki tara" said my mom. And I could hear my dad laugh so loud. "Maar lo taane koi na milega mujhe bhi sabar ka fal. Aur bhagwaan jab deta h na chappad faad ke deta hai" I replied. I'm 21 and haven't even held hands with a guy yet. It's not like I haven't had crushes. I did a few times but none of them lasted after I actually got to know the guys. Generation ki kharab hai. Sab try kar lia. I installed a dating app, met a couple decent guys, went on a couple dates but that's all about it. 1-2 se zada dates wali vibe hi ni match hui. I've given up on trying now. Bhagwaanji ne koi to dhundha hi hoga mere liye bhi. Unpe bharosa krke bas wait kr rhi hu.

All I want is a man who gives me princess treatment and I treat him like a prince. The Bollywood kinda romance, the kdramas kinda romance. Basically I want a fictional man 🥲
And to add to it, my brother is exactly the same. He's 17 but he's never been interested in flings. We both want the partners who are date to marry, and grow old together. He's into cricket by the way and dreams of playing professionally some day. I hope he gets it 🤞

"Iss hisaab se to humare bacche single hi reh jaenge" said my dad. My parents met through my bhua who was in the same class as my mom. Mummy papa ke ghar padhai karne aati thi aur love letters leke jaati thi 🙈 Love kam arranged marriage thi unki.

Aur yahan mere school m ek bhi ladka dekhne layak nhi tha Aur college to mera covid m online classes krte hue hi nikal gya 🥺 dukh hi dukh. Okay now let's keep the love life on the side for a minute. My main concern is how to convince my parents to get me to move to India and become a Bollywood actress. They wanted me to finish my bachelors in business management (backup option sab Indian parents ko chahiye hota hai na)  which I did but that's not the end goal. I've done a few small projects as extras here and there in the US to gain experience but that's about it. I know the dream seems too far but dreams are what you're supposed to work for right

"Mummy papa aapse baat karni thi" I start the conversation full of nervousness. "Haan bol", they replied. "Ab college khatam ho gya hai aur aap logon ne bola tha ki padhai karne ke baad main adulthood m apne hisaab se reh skti hu", I gulp my saliva as I speak because what if they say no 🥺

"Haan to dekh le tu job karni hai ya masters karni hai ya kuch aurrrr", my mom says as she gives a curious side eye to my dad. "Kuch aurr mtlb?" I ask out of curiosity. "Nhi teri marzi dekhle tu" says dad. I take a breath in and rush through the words "mujhe india jaake bollywood m kaam krna h" I said it I SAID IT
I look at my parents with wide confused eyes as they pause and then say "JAA SIMRAN JAA JEE LE APNI ZINDAGI"

HEINNNNNNNN!!! Dude wtf just happened
"We've seen you work very seriously and hard for the smallest roles. Extras mein itni mehnat kar sakti hai to lead mein kya kya kregi" my mom says and tears roll down my eyes. They have seen how passionate and sincere I am for my dream and I expected them to say yes after I convinced the f out of them but I didn't expect it to be so easy.

"Bombay m chacha chachi hain just stay with them. Your cousin Samar lives in Bangalore for college anyways so they'll be happy to have a kid in the home." my dad said. "Dhang se mehnat krio aur stay safe in Bombay." said mom. "I'm a black belt mumma. Self defense ke liye hi seekha tha" I replied. "All we wanted from you was to complete your education so yeah now we won't back off. Also, the business management is to help you with finances, managing yourself as you get into the industry because you might not get a manager right away Haina to backup plan bhi soch samajhke krwaya hai." my dad explained "and you never know maybe she might have her production house one day and the education would help her a lot there too."he continued.
That is true if you think about it. Backup plan bhi lo to aisa jo main plan m kaam aaye. "Samajhdaar ho gye aap dono mere saath rhke" I hit them with a taunt hehe. "Samajhdaar to hum phle se hi the bas kabhi kadar nhi hui iss ghar m"mom said dramatically

Sometimes I just can't tell if I am my brother are their kids or they both are the kids of the house 😂

"Get your packing and everything done and tell me what date works for the flight to Bombay." my dad asked as I hugged them both. I genuinely do have the best parents one could ask for. I mean they're not perfect but nobody is, right. We argue, we fight, we play, but in the end it's US which is why I've never felt the need to have any friends. Expect for my Tani but qismat to dekho we're in a long distance friendship. OHHHHHH I NEED TO TELL HER I COMING TO BOMBAY!!!!

Okay I'm gonna go tell her and I'll see you guys in part 3 😉
