The three lasts
There are three things that this movie is the last of.
A. Ward Kimball left the studio after, so this is the last movie all nine of the Nine Old Men worked on. Especially all together.
B. It's the last movie to be distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. The ones following it would be distributed by Buena Vista.
C. This is Bobby Driscoll's last Disney movie. By the time it was made, he hit puberty and had too much acne for Disney to handle. In Bobby's words, "I was carried on a silver platter, then dumped into the garbage can." In other words, the company treated him like a piece of meat!
