John out, Nana in

In early concepts of the movie, Nana the dog traveled with the children to Never Land.

Storyboards are visible in documentaries.

In fact, the movie was gonna end with Nana being the only one to see the ship fly away.

No one really knows why she didn't go with them in the final film.

Also in early versions, John didn't go to Never Land because he was too mature.

The scene was supposed to have Wendy ask Peter Pan if John and Michael could go too.

Peter, apparently, was gonna have this superpower where he can look inside people's dreams.

John is doing algebra in his dreams and Michael is fighting Indians in his.

Peter lets Michael go, but leaves John at home.

That idea was scrapped when story man Ralph Wright wrote to Walt Disney, suggesting that John go to Never Land to protect Wendy and be a strong character.

And at the bottom of the letter, Walt wrote the word 'good'.

Good job, Ralph!
