Poison or bomb?

In the movie, Captain Hook tries to kill Peter Pan by blowing him up, disguising the bomb as a present from Wendy.

Originally, it was gonna play out exactly like the original stage play.

The Lost Boys were supposed to take medicine before bedtime. You know, like how the Darling children do in the beginning of the film.

Captain Hook was gonna put poison in Peter's spoonful of medicine.

And when Tinker Bell hears about that, she goes to warn Peter, like how she warns him about the bomb.

But Peter doesn't believe her, so Tink drinks the poisoned medicine before he can.

Then Peter begs Tink not to die, saying she means more to him than anything in the world, just like in the movie.

But unlike the movie, the audience would get involved. Peter would ask the audience to applaud for Tink to prove they believe in fairies.

The audience's enthusiastic applause would be what revived her.

While it worked like a charm in stage theaters, Walt thought the whole applause thing would be hard to pull off in a motion picture.
