Travis shivers as a gust of wind passes by the two boys. Sal looks over at him for only a second, saying nothing before he looks back in front of him. The walk from the Phelps household to Addison Apartments was not that bad, but it could've been better. Sal's presence and the weight of his hand in Travis' own made it more tolerable, though. A lot more tolerable.

Orange and red leaves fall from the tree branches above their heads, landing on their shoulders and on the sidewalk in front of them. It's a nice night, even despite the chill in the air. Travis is glad he picked a sweater to wear- not that he had any other options. He did not need Sal to find out about his self harming tendencies and the abuse he goes through. Despite the sweater, it was still cold, and Travis could feel goosebumps forming on his skin.

"Excited for Halloween?" Sal broke the silence between them, looking down at the sidewalk as a leaf crunches under his converse. Travis mulled over the question for a moment. In all honesty, no, he was not excited for Halloween. It was a sinful holiday, the devil's day. He was never allowed to celebrate it. Even as a child, he wasn't even allowed to dress up or go trick or treating. That was not going to change this year.

"No. It's sinful." The devil's already got him in his grasp with all this cult stuff. He did not need to make it worse. Really, he needed to work towards getting back on God's good side, so that hopefully God would help him out of this situation. He knew he wasn't supposed to rely on God to fix every bad thing in his life, but this darkness was something only God could take away.

"You don't even want to dress up?" Sal asked, and Travis could hear the frown in his voice. In all honesty, the fact that Travis not wanting to participate in Halloween upset Sal.. It broke Travis' heart to know that. It was then, as the two turned into the Addison Apartments parking lot, that he realized he'd do anything for Sal at this point. Even if it was sinful. He couldn't bring himself to say no, to possibly upset the boy he loved. He sighed.

"I guess dressing up wouldn't be so bad... Are you gonna dress up?" Of course he was, idiot. Travis grimaced at his stupidity, but Sal said nothing about the dumbness of the question. Instead, he just hummed happily, as a way of saying yes. Sal paired the happy noise with a squeeze to Travis' hand. He did not explain what he was going to dress up as, though.

"We should match. I'll pick out the costumes for us. It'll be fun!" They enter the elevator and Sal presses the button for his floor. Travis couldn't bring himself to protest, although he was anxious at what Sal could possibly dream up for them to match as. Hopefully it wasn't anything too horrible. Sal seemed very excited about it, and Travis didn't want to ruin that.
