So much for "The best sleep he's had in his entire life."

He's in a dense forest, one much like the forest in one of his previous dreams- the shotgun dream. He's himself in this one, though. He knows it from the whispers surrounding him. Travis, Travis, Travis. I'm going to get you, Travis. Stop running.

He doesn't stop running. He's not sure why he's running in the first place, but he is, and something tells him to keep going, even though the voices in the trees yell at him to stop. His legs scream in protest as well, the muscles burning from the strenuous exercise, but he doesn't stop. He keeps running, even as the forest gets denser and bushes rub against his ankles. Thorns catch in the scarred skin, but he just tugs free and keeps running.

A dog barks behind him, growling on the occasion it catches up. He wants to look back, but he doesn't dare to- For fear whatever's chasing him will catch him. The voices grow louder, screaming now, piercing his eardrums. Stop running!

Travis' lungs burn. He feels like no matter how many deep breaths he takes, breathing just gets harder and harder. Eyes stare at him from through the trees, blinking loudly and roaming over his body. Gooey blood from the scratches in his ankles seep into his socks, but he doesn't stop. He can't stop.

This is your destiny, Travis. Don't you want to make your dear dad proud? Be a good son, for once in your stupid fucking life.

The voice sounds like his father now, and a hand reaches out from the trees to grab him. He just barely dodges it, almost tripping in the process. The thing behind him is growling loudly, its footsteps getting closer and faster. Travis' heart pounds in fear.

More hands reach out, one swiping against his neck as another latches onto his wrist. He just barely manages to tug out of its grip, but his legs falter and he trips. He falls flat on his face, but he scrambles to stand. Travis doesn't get far before the thing gains on him and its cold hand pushes him back onto the thorny ground. His hands dig into the thorns as he turns himself over, prepared to come face-to-face with his monster.
