Be My Apocalypse

CHAPTER 3

Being in a car with a stranger as my driver I could feel myself tensing up and as if Ria noticed it she kept holding my hand and rubbing it with hers. One thing I noticed from her hands is not that soft like I expected from her, she has a calloused hands unfit for her personality and background. And as if she read my mind she spoke in a dismissive voice.

"It's not the best of comfort but don't mind it."

"Pardon?"

"My hands I mean. I could hear your thoughts leaking out from here."

I was shocked by what she said. Like am I that obvious for her to sense it?

"Pardon my rudeness. I didn't mean to offend you. And I don't mind the texture of your hand if that's what you're worried about. It has a nice and unique feeling to it."

"I got this from a fire accident years ago... When I attempted to save someone from a fire."

A fire huh? It reminds me of something... That day when I was kidnapped and the car they kidnapper's car got into an accident which caused fire within the car. My kidnapper's fled leaving me inside the car squirming as my legs, hands and mouth was tied down, thankfully I was rescued by someone whom I don't recognize now.

"You sound like a gentleman."

The moment I said those words I could feel her kind of startled. So, I intentionally closed our gaps as I put my face inches in front of hers. As I admired her beauty I unintentionally made our faces closer than what I expected it to be, I just realized I was too close when she closed her eyes and swallowed hard as she was as red as a tomato. I could sense her tensing up a she slowly puts her face closer to mine. Before our lips could almost collide, we were interrupted by my phone ringing with Hachi as my ringtone. I don't know if I should thank or curse the caller for saving me from my crises. The moment I answered it I was greeted by the yell of my secretary slash butler Harriette Xylo's voice.

"Sky Raven Huxier! What in the world have you done!?"

Even when she's on the phone I could tell how stressed she was. I mean I could admit being a troublemaker as her boss due to my frequent scandals I am caught into, but I don't really know what I've done tonight that has caused her like this.

"Are you going to be silent all night? Sky Raven Huxier?"

"I swear I'm at the edge already... I'm on the point where I want to resign as your secretary slash butler." She added which startled me but I know just the thing to make her drop the thought. As I was about to answer Harriette, Ria who had been silent since earlier held my face and made it look in hers. I could feel the way she looks that she was on a bad mood.... It's making me want to tease her but I held it in.

"I'll increase your salary this month by 30% let me off hook will you?"

"No thanks..."

I was impressed by her declining my offer. Harriette never once rejected an offer to increase her salary. Despite her family lineage of belonging to the strongest firearm maker in the underworld--- The Xylo's and being the second in line to the Croix Empire she still prefers to work under me and earn her money without relying to her family. Harriette has an older sister named Asteria whom I've met once but I don't really fancy her attitude that much. I'd prefer Harriette over her.

"Do me a favor Raven..." She said which snapped me into reality.

"I want all informations about Ashleigh Lyfa and I'll overlook what happened tonight."

"But of course you need to come back tonight for I can't cover you up to your parents."

Just as when she said that the car we were in was stopped by a Chevrolet Camarro. My eyes still locked on Ria assessing me with her golden pupils, while I hang upon the phone.

"Forgive me... My parent's are calling me I hope you don't mind continuing this another night hmm... Miss Ria Vollerei?

I saw her curse slightly the moment I called her by her name. Did she not like it perhaps? That's what I thought. If stares could kill then consider me 6 ft below by how intense her stare is to me... Her stares were mixed emotions filled with irritation,sadness and anger? But why? I questioned myself. I don't understand where these emotions are coming from. I was snapped back when I heard her fake a cough gaining my attention.

"Do you really have to go?" She asked in a soft voice.

Shit. It's making me want to see her begging on her knees as she screams my name.

"Parent's orders. Can't disobey." I simply replied to her maintaining my nonchalance in my voice.

"Liar." I heard her whisper. Which in return I just smiled at her. It's true I am lying in front of her because I know myself Harriette didn't call just because of the incident tonight. It's something more requiring my presence as "Sora". It's a personality I made to protect our family from inside and outside.

After an awkward silence between us for a few minutes, someone knocked on my window and when I opened it, it revealed our driver Grant Shiloh Iudex. With his voice deep and authoritive voice he told me to get off the car and follow him.

"Ria... I'm really sorry I'll make it up to you."

She didn't say a word as I got out of her car. The moment I got out I heard her whisper....

"Until next time Huxier..."

As I watched her car vanished through the silent and long road.
