In a battle the outcome could only be failure or victor. I had always claimed the throne not until I got dethroned by the one who calls themselves as "Demise". He who had risen on top the moment the Vollerei became active. I had suspicions that he is working under them and now I am sure of it. He was careless. Sure, enough I was not able to track him directly but I was able to guess. I always thought he has a familiar voice and how familiar his physique is.

He had a frail body the first time I examined him but thinking about it now I could see that was not the case. I deliberately let him see how I signaled my sniper to shot his left arm but he evaded it not knowing it was a feint. The other sniper who saw my true intention shot his right shoulder which made him cursed under his breath.

"Gone the terrifying aura of yours Thanatos? Or should I call you Demise? Which do you prefer?" I asked him as I stared directly in his eyes.

He chuckled even knowing he might face the true grim reaper right now which made me irritated. It was like he was laughing at how I played dirty at him. "It seems that I have underestimated you. Of course you are heavily guarded. But damn, I couldn't help but forget that you are a dangerous person because of how you look."

I already know. Most of the people I encounter everyday especially civilians would mistake me for an angel because of how I look. But they'd be so wrong. Behind the angel like appearance of mine was a devil who couldn't get contented. A devil who kills other devils due to boredom. I was the devil that even my father was afraid of.

I was about to signal the sniper again when a car pulled up and there, I saw my goddess exiting. She dragged the man and apologizes to me. Which I found unusual; she was acting like someone else again. How I wish I could tell her that. But before I could reply to her apologies, she quickly dumped Thanatos to the car and drove away.

My communication device crackled and a voice came in. "Should we track them down Mistress?" The voice asked.

"Don't bother Michaelis. If she decided to interfere herself then he must've been someone trustworthy to them." I told him.

"But still I can't overlook that he threatened you."

"It's not a big deal. Can you drive me? I suddenly want to hang out with Grant."

"Wait for me to get down Mistress." He stated and cut off our communication. It took him some minutes before I pulled up in front of me with the Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

"Hop in Mistress."

I got in and admired his car. I couldn't help but be mesmerized with it. As a car enthusiast this car have been on my wish list but I just didn't have the time to get one since I keep drowning myself in my problems.

He was a decent driver. Although Harriette tends to be the better driver. There's just something about her that makes her the better driver or it is because I am just more comfortable with her. Despite how our journey went on silent we arrived at our destination eventually. I got down and told him I'll contact him when he will contact me. I don't usually get guards or snipers surrounding me if I am near a trusted employee such as Grant.

Speaking of Grant, he was not just a normal employee of ours. He was my personal doctor but before all that he is one of my childhood friends. Theo, him and me grew up together. But because of unwanted things we had to give each other some space.

As I entered his apartment, I noticed how messy it was unlike back then where he was a complete neat freak.

So, he kept it huh?

I saw our pictures framed in the midst of his living room. I paused as I remembered something I thought I had already buried.

"I have something to tell you." A young Grant came up to me with a bouquet of flowers on his back. I was quite insensitive back then just as I am now. I didn't even bother asking him what it was and just gave him a nod--- a signal to let him continue.
