Be My Apocalypse

CHAPTER 12

She drove me back home. As we were in the car I called our pilot and arranged my private plane for her. I also called Theo to inform his caretakers for her arrival. As we were on the way to my apartment she broke the silence enveloping us.

"I'm really grateful to have you as my friend and my boss." I was touched by her words I know how grateful she is but I'm more grateful that she approached me that day.

I remember it as my usual day in high school. I was observing everyone as usual. It is funny watching them having fun on breaks but when we are on classes they were like hungry predators wanting to outsmart the other. But for me I didn't even need to try. I don't have the need to compete with them because I was already at the top. And all's that left for me to do is observe them devour each other.

When I got bored observing them I got my laptop and browse to the issues of our company with my father's email which I hacked. When I finished checking and solving the possible solutions to those issues pretending that it is my father I switched into my mother's email. There I saw a case where it involves hacking a person who's about to hack a bank. I replied to the email and referred it to myself.

At a young age, I already made a name for myself. I was known as "hellphoenix". I was known as a notorious hacker with unknown origins and I work under my mom which she wasn't aware of. As I was in the middle of hacking a girl approached me. Which made me close my laptop.

It was the transferee albino girl in our class. She was known as Harriette I believe like the mad scientist in the DC comics. And she was also my roommate.

"I work under her." She proclaimed and I just observed her. In my mind I was cursing her because I don't have the gist of the situation since I was busy with my case.

"Don't be a madman and get away from her. You don't even know who are you referring to. And we know she doesn't have underlings you can't fool us, Croix." I looked at the punk in front of her are they forcing her to do something?

In our academy there was a rule that top students have to pick an underling which is a transferee or a junior. I happen to be at top but I haven't pick an underling because I don't find any fun in it. But this one seems interesting.

She looked at me as if pleading me to say something to help her. How bothersome.

"Piss off. Don't show your face to me." All I said and they left.

When they were completely out of view she sighed feeling at ease.

"You saved me there. Thank you." I just looked at her and nodded as I get back on my laptop to finish my case.

"You know me do you?" She asked.

"The snow princess of the underworld was it? Or is Snow more accurate?" I asked her in which she smirked.

"I never thought you'd know me that well. Nice to meet you too." She handed out her hand but I didn't dare accept her filthy hands. When she noticed how I didn't accept her hand she retrieves it as she once again asked me a question.

"How high is your rank down? You seem well informed."

"Probably higher than you."

"Say about the underling thingy in this school, why don't you accept me? If you know my identity in the underworld that must mean that you know that I'm a strong fighter."

"I don't have interests in fools who only thinks of fights and have high expectations for themselves." I told her in a dismissing manner but she didn't seem to be bothered by it.

"I'll show you that I am capable of fighting by your side. So keep that position open for me." She said and left.

She stated the truth she worked hard to earn my trust, my respect, and my approval. But I didn't see her to be fit as my underling. The way she would accompany me in lunch and talk to me when I am clearly feared by everyone and only had Theodore by my side. The way she would care for me and stayed by my side through my good and bad times I knew I couldn't treat her as just my underling. As time passed, I didn't knew that my heart would be swayed by her actions. I eventually liked the feeling of being watched instead of being the observer. So I rejected her nth time of requesting to be my underling and acknowledge her as my friend. Inside the academy she quickly rose to the second spot next to mine and outranking Ashleigh and Theodore. This made Ashleigh mad and would always compete with her but would always fail. But I knew deep down she was also like me. We both have the fear of disappointing our providers that's why she was competitive. Harriette changed her behaviors as we were in our 3rd year, she was still loyal to me but she suddenly had a thing for ladies. She dated almost all of the girls inside and outside the campus while also not being reported to her father. She would often get challenges for boys who she stole her girls from and would always be the victor.

One time as I was passing by the storage room of our campus. I saw Ashleigh as if she was watching the most unbelievable thing in her life. When I took a peek on what was it I saw Harriette making out with a girl. I thought that there was nothing wrong to it but for her it feels like a big deal. I don't know why but I had a bad feeling about it and I had chosen to ignore it.

Sure enough rumors started spreading around the campus until it reached her father and sister's ears. Her father confronted her about it but she also lost her temper and left their house. She also left the academy and we both didn't meet until the head of the Xylo household introduced her heiress to me.

I was shocked to see and hear that she was related to the Xylo. But I guess it would only make sense given how much authority she had back then as "Snow". I accepted her as my right hand man in the underworld and my secretary in my our empire. I had two empire to take care of our family empire and my own empire. So I had not twice but thrice obligations. It was one of the reasons I can't attend parties often or maybe just because I was bored. Our relationship was strained at first but we eventually loosened up ourselves and bonded like friends once again.

I got awoken by Harriette's voice telling me that we've arrived. So I got up and gets out.

"Take your time healing yourself. If you got bored in the island you may visit my farm in Baguio or just simply buy any plot of land you fancy under my name of course."

"Thanks boss. You can expect I'll be back soon."

"Whatever Harriette. Don't be back soon. You might as well enjoy the whole country while you're at it and report it back to me. Or if you get bored in the Philippines just give me a call and I'll arrange you a flight anywhere you like."

She chuckled as a response before bidding goodbye to me and left. It was already dark out the only source of light was coming from a street light nearby. I was left alone in front of my own apartment and suddenly I felt a presence behind me. Not just any presence. It was the presence of someone armed.

"Our boss ordered us to capture you. Are you willing to come?" It asked I immediately knew who he was. It was Thánatos. He seems to be appearing more frequently I wonder why? But should a kidnapper ask permission first before he kidnaps a person? I bet not. It must be because he knows that he can't handle me in a fight, right?

"I refuse. If your boss really had the guts to show himself in front of me he wouldn't use such petty tricks. But it seems to me that he is nothing but a coward hiding behind his throne."

"Such insolence! Just let me warn you then if you will be seen near our lady again you will face heavy consequences." Oh my I'm scared if only he knew that I am already courting their lady. I pretended to be scared at his threat but deep down I wanted to flaunt it in front of him but I thought it through and let be ignorant of our true score since it may endanger Ria. It already crossed my mind that what if the new head of the Vollerei is not exactly from the Vollerei and was just someone who is engaged to one of the Vollerei which made the previous head pass his authority to him.

"if I truly ever saw you near our lady again I'll make this your last life."

"Howscary, oh great reaper of death. But you should know that I am not easily threatened.I am Sky Raven Huxier after all. I may have lost in your domain but don't thinkyou will survive in mine."
