As the impact of the familiar whack registered, Darsh instantly looked up with his tear filled eyes in shock to find his Sherni's eyes open. His heart beat skipped for a second as he found those deep brown eyes settled on him. Something his heart had craved for.
"Sherni!" He spoke in daze, still unable to differ that whether he was dreaming or actually his Sherni was in front of him, wide awake. Aadhira kept on looking at him as her voice shivered, muffling through the oxygen mask,"Dar...Darsh"
That was the moment, Darsh instantly slipped out of his trance as his brimmed with tears as he clasped her soft hand hand tightly, caging them between his rough ones. His hold was possessive as he feared that if he might even bat and eye, his most precious dream would end.
"Sherni!" Darsh cried as he placed a tender kiss on her hand, then another, and then another, keeping it near his heart. A place which only belonged to the girl that had taken his heart away years ago. Somewhere his Sherni's belonged to be. Somewhere she was meant to rule.
The beeping silence of the machine was soon over taken by the cries of a certain man, whose heart wailed for his love. Aadhira gave him a weak smile with a concerned look. She couldn't even comprehend how much pain the guy sitting in front of him has felt through the terrible two hours wait. Wait for his Sherni to wake up.
Darsh didn't even glance at her as he cried his heart out, which was scared like hell for the very first time in years. Scared to lose something that was precious. Scared to lose the world, that had kept him alive. Aadhira's heart clenched in pain as she heard the cries of the man, whose mere tears were something she couldn't even handle.
She gently tugged his hand, gesturing him to lean forward. Darsh instantly wiped his tears, feeling the tug. He got the hint as he got up from the stool and leaned forward. His hand instinctively cupping her cheek, his eyes etched in pute concern, "Kya hua Sherni? Kahin dard ho rha h? Ruk mai abhi doctor ko bulata hoon"
Darsh rambled his concerns, his heart still gripped under the traps of fear and concern. He mentally cursed himself for prioritizing his emotional breakdown rather than his girl's health. Without even hearing her response, he turned around but again stopped when Aadhira clasped his hands with her other one, finding it heavy due to the plaster.
Darsh, who felt her touch, turned back to see Aadhira frantically shaking her head with weakness clear on her face. Seeing his Sherni so closely, Darsh felt an urge to cry all over again.
Her eyes held weakness while her skin had paled, chasing away her charm. As Aadhira removed her other hand due to pain, as he ran his free hand, brushing it upon the side of her face as he scooped it his palms.
Aadhira tugged him further as she removed her oxygen mask a little, "Saale itna royega toh kaise chlega rey?" Her voice came out weak as she wiped off a lone tear off her boyfriend's face. Darsh's heart suddenly felt at peace as he heard the voice, his ears had yearned for so long.
But what he didn't like was the girl's audacity. Firstly she was the one who gave him the reason and now she has the audacity to ask me not to do that, after giving his poor heart almost a heart attack. After almost snatching herself away from him.
In the last two hours, he had several times imagined his Sherni getting up and him being all angry over her yet when this is happening in reality, his resolute to stay angry on her feels to have fallen weak. He just wanted to give her a hug and treasure her in his arms, so that she would never ever try to do this again. Never ever try to go away form him.
