"We need to talk about something,"
Max approached and sat next to Zee, who furrowed his brow in confusion.
"Talk about what? And why are you guys clinging to me like leeches? You're scaring me," Zee said, failing to hide the nervous edge in his voice.
The boys grinned at him, and Jimmy, still holding Zee's right arm, said, "We know you'd run away if we didn't do this."
"What do you mean?" Zee asked, confused.
"Let's have a man-to-man talk," Max said.
Max nodded to Net and Jimmy, signaling them to release Zee. They all stood up and returned to their seats, with Max sitting beside Zee and placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
"May I know what's your real intention towards my cousin?" Max asked.
Zee's heart skipped a beat. He swallowed hard, feeling his face heat up. "What are you talking about?" Zee tried to deflect, but Max wasn't having any of it.
"See? You're avoiding the topic again. Don't play dumb, Zee. You know what we're talking about." Max said, moving closer and looking Zee in the eyes.
Zee avoided Max's gaze, taking a gulp of his saliva. He looked down at his hands, now fidgeting. He didn't know what to say or how to respond to Max's question.
"I'm not asking to scare you. I just want to know your intentions towards my cousin," Max said. "We're not blind, Zee. We can see how you've changed. We all see how you look at him," he added, his tone sincere.
Zee felt like he wanted to disappear from embarrassment. He knew this moment would come, but he didn't expect it to be so soon. His heart raced, and his palms grew sweaty.
"Yeah, man. It's pretty obvious. We're not trying to embarrass you." Net said, sitting next to him.
"You say you're just friends, but the way you look at Nunew says otherwise. Don't lie to us, Zee. You don't look at your us like that," Jimmy teased.
Zee looked up at them and saw their smiles, as if they were amused and excited.
"Exactly. And the huge bouquet you gave him yesterday? Are you sure you two are just fake boyfriends? Because it doesn't look that way to us," Tutor added, earning a playful smack from Yim.
Zee couldn't help but laugh. His anxiety melted away at his friends' teasing. He realized he had been worried for no reason. He looked around at his friends and sighed.
"I'm really sorry guys, but I'm not ready to answer your questions yet." Zee said, turning his gaze to Max.
Max smiled and nodded. "It's okay. You don't have to tell us right away. We know you might still be confused about your feelings. I'm sorry for invading your private life, but as your friend and as Nunew's cousin, I know how hard it has been for both of you. I don't want either of you to get hurt because I can see how happy you are when you're together."
"And with the deal you both made, the situation is tough. But I trust you both. You're already adults, I know you can handle this both. Just remember, if you make Nunew cry, you'll have to meet my fist" Max said with a chuckle, trying to lighten the mood.
The whole gang burst into laughter, the tension easing as the serious conversation took on a more playful tone. Zee felt a wave of relief wash over him. He looked around at his friends, appreciating their support.
"Thank you for understanding, guys," Zee said, his voice tinged with genuine gratitude. He smiled, feeling a bit more at ease.
Jimmy chimed in saying "We might be nosy, but it's because we care. You've got our support no matter what."
