If you don't hunt it down and kill it,
it'll hunt you down and kill you.

Kaavi's POV

After a traumatic sleep due to last night's incident, we didn't experience any unusual thing which was a peaceful thing by far, but again my heart did a summersault when I saw two people almost cuddling in my bed.

We all had our breakfast in silence, except dhyey, rivansh and kaaya. It was like all of us had gone mute. The pitter-patter of the rain was now turned into a downpour.

Strange, isn't it?! Downpour in rajasthan, and that too in the middle of f***ing december.

Ma'am was constantly pacing down the hall, with tiredness visible all over her face. Everyone was traumatized and scared due to last night's incident and the morning incident with kaaya worked as a fuel in our already scared self.

We aren't even able to contact sir due to weather conditions. All we can do now is lay low and see what is going to happen in a few hours. I was about to ascend the stairs to go in my room when ma'am called me from behind.

"Kaavi, can you please do one thing?" she asked.

"Yeah sure. What is it?" I asked.

"It's time for kaaya's medicine, can you please make sure she takes it without any tantrum?" she asked.

"No problem ma'am." I said with a chuckle and went in the kitchen to fetch kaaya's medicine.

Usually the medicine kit is in the upper compartment above the fridge. I opened the door of the compartment and moved my hand to find the kit, I couldn't even see the shelf.

Height problems.

"Kuch dhundh rahi ho chhutku?" someone asked from behind.
(Finding something shorty?)

I turned to see parthiv leaning against the door frame, with that ugliest smirk on his face. Not in the mood to start a banter, I replied calmly,

"I'm finding kaaya's medicine. I can't reach it." I said the last sentence in the whisper. Sensing my mood, he didn't stretch the matter.

"Let me help you." he said and came near me. I didn't notice him approaching towards me and turned, only to get my head bumped in his chest.

"Ouch....sharir hai ya loha!" I whined rubbing my forehead.
(Your body is made of steel or what?!)

"Madame, aap hai hi chickmagnet, toh yeh loha to aakarshit hoga hi na." he whispered lowering his face, causing goosebumps all over my body.
(You are a chick magnet darling, what can I do when this steel is attracted towards you.)

The sardonic answer hanging at the tip of my tongue vanished in milliseconds, leaving me speechless in the worst battle between my mind and my heart.

Our eyes were fighting a wordless battle, trying to read each other's mind, trying to find the invisible thread connecting us even when we were cursing on each other's faces. It was like the time has paused just for us, just so we could find the answers to our unsaid feelings.

We were lost in the moment when suddenly I heard footsteps. I looked over parthiv's shoulder to see ma'am coming in the kitchen. My eyes widened and my mind stopped processing when I realised our posture.

I wasn't able to process anything, words struck in my throat and I did the only thing that came to my mind at the last second. I held parthiv's head in my hand and pulled him towards me. His eyes widened at the sudden stunt I pulled.

Our lips were almost touching, with just my thumb in between to keep them apart. His one hand on the shelf and one hand on my waist holding me up. If someone saw from the back, it definitely looked like we were kissing.
