There is no such thing as a harmless ghost.
_______________________________Rivansh's POV
"Aaahhhh...."
A sudden scream pierced the air. I turned to see pakhi, her face contorted in agony, tears streaming down her cheeks as she pointed at something. My heart pounded in my chest, a wave of dread washing over me. What on earth was happening?
All eyes were on pakhi now. Ma'am tried to comfort her, but her tears refused to subside.
"Pakhi! Tell us what happened!" aanya pleaded, her own voice trembling.
Pakhi didn't speak. She simply pointed her trembling finger towards something. Our eyes, including mine, followed her gesture, only to be met with a horrifying sight.
A pool of blood!
A large quantity of blood was seeping out from beneath the door where kaaya was locked. It looked as if someone had turned on a tap, and blood was gushing out.
The scene was utterly revolting, but my mind was elsewhere. Kaaya. I rushed towards the door and pounded on it.
"Kaaya! Are you okay?! Bachcha! Say something! Kaaya!" I screamed, but there was no response.
"Rivansh! Come here!" Ma'am shouted, but my mind was racing.
Suddenly, I was pulled back forcefully. I turned with a jerk to see parthiv holding me back.
"Please, rivansh, try to understand." he pleaded, his grip tightening on my arm.
"Parthiv, she's in danger! How the hell can I calm down!" I snapped, struggling against his hold.
Without hesitation, parthiv dragged me back, ignoring my struggles.
"Everyone, gather around me! Stay close!" ma'am ordered, her voice firm but laced with concern. Parthiv practically pulled me toward her, and I felt a surge of hopelessness wash over me.
"Rivansh, compose yourself. You won't leave my side, understood? That's your final warning." Ma'am scolded, her eyes stern but worried. I nodded, feeling defeated.
"Ma'am, it-itna khun k-kiska hoga?" Kartik stuttered, his voice trembling.
(Whose blood must this be!)Ma'am's expression turned stern. "Kartik, shut up! You're frightening everyone. Don't worry, kaaya must be safe. Just chant God's name." Her own voice was heavy with worry, her breaths short and labored.
Just as we focused on the door, the lights abruptly went out, plunging us into pitch blackness. Pakhi and kaavi's terrified screams pierced the darkness, making us flinch and shake with fear.
"Tu-turn on the phone's flashlight!" I managed to stammer, my voice barely audible.
As we fumbled for our phones and turned on the flashlights, the faint beams of light provided some comfort. We huddled together, practically clinging to each other in fear.
An unsettling silence descended upon us, heavy with foreboding. Even the sound of our ragged breathing seemed amplified. I felt a hand grasp my wrist, and saw rishabh clinging to me as if his life depended on it. His face remained stoic, but his vice-like grip betrayed his true emotions.
The sudden, deafening rumble of thunder shattered the silence, causing us to flinch and shriek in fright. The thunderclap was so intense and terrifying that everyone scattered in a frenzied panic. I found myself running aimlessly, driven by primal instinct. Somehow, I ended up near a cupboard, where I sought refuge.
After a few moments, I regained my composure and surveyed my surroundings. To my dismay, I discovered I was in a desolate, eerie back corridor. Uncertain about my next move, I decided to prioritize finding someone.
