The weeks continued, and the pattern of Katsuki’s overwork and Izuku’s steadfast support remained a constant. Izuku’s concern for Katsuki grew with each passing day, and while Katsuki remained outwardly defiant, the cracks in his armor were becoming more apparent.

One evening, after an especially demanding training session, Katsuki was found lying on his bed in the dorms, his body exhausted and his mind restless. He stared at the ceiling, the silence of his room a stark contrast to the chaos of his thoughts. His sleep had been fitful, plagued by dreams of his past and the weight of his grief.

The door to his room creaked open, and Izuku entered, carrying a small bag. He had come to check on Katsuki, hoping that a bit of comfort might help ease the tension.

“Hey, Kacchan,” Izuku said softly, setting the bag down on a nearby chair. “I thought you might like some tea. It’s supposed to be relaxing.”

Katsuki turned his head, his eyes narrowing at the intrusion. “What are you doing here? I don’t need any tea.”

Izuku’s expression remained calm, despite the tension in the air. “I know you’re tired. I just wanted to make sure you’re okay.”

Katsuki sat up slowly, his movements stiff and weary. “I told you, I don’t need your pity.”

Izuku took a deep breath, stepping closer. “It’s not pity, Kacchan. It’s concern. You’ve been pushing yourself too hard, and it’s starting to show.”

Katsuki’s eyes flashed with frustration, but there was a trace of vulnerability beneath the anger. “I’m fine. Just leave me alone.”

Izuku’s gaze softened as he placed a cup of tea on the bedside table. “You don’t have to go through this alone. I know you’re hurting, and I want to be here for you.”

Katsuki’s defenses wavered, and for a brief moment, the façade of aggression slipped. He stared at the cup of tea, the small gesture of care a stark contrast to the turmoil inside him. The silence between them was heavy, laden with the weight of unspoken emotions.

Finally, Katsuki sighed, his voice barely above a whisper. “You don’t get it. I’m not doing this because I want to. I’m doing it because I have to.”

Izuku sat down beside him, offering a reassuring smile. “I do get it, Kacchan. I understand that you’re trying to keep control, but sometimes letting others in is the only way to truly find peace.”

Katsuki’s gaze remained fixed on the tea, his expression a mixture of frustration and sadness. “I don’t know how to let go. I don’t know how to stop being angry.”

Izuku’s voice was gentle, his words a soothing balm to Katsuki’s turmoil. “It’s okay to be angry. It’s okay to feel the pain. But you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. Letting others in doesn’t make you weak—it makes you human.”

The words seemed to resonate with Katsuki, his defenses crumbling as he allowed himself to feel the weight of his emotions. He took a deep breath, his shoulders slumping as the tension slowly eased.

Izuku remained by his side, offering a steady presence as Katsuki grappled with his inner turmoil. The journey to healing was far from over, but for the first time, Katsuki allowed himself a moment of vulnerability, a crack in the walls that had shielded him for so long.

As the night wore on, the two of them sat in silence, the warmth of the tea and the quiet companionship providing a small measure of comfort. Katsuki’s usual bravado was subdued, replaced by a quiet reflection that spoke of the challenges he faced.

Izuku knew that breaking through Katsuki’s walls would take time and patience, but he was willing to continue the journey. The path to healing was a long one, but with each step, they moved closer to finding it
