"I...I think...I think I'm in love with her."
Hunter's face turned red but not from his crying, despite that little girl hurting him Hunter felt deep down inside..something. He didn't know what it was but he was pretty sure it was love so that's what he said.
The teacher gave him a smile which turned into a small laugh "Ok buddy why don't we go inside for a minute so I can call your mom ok?" The teacher told him and he nodded in response.
She took his hand in hers and helped him walk to the front of the school but as they passed the court yard Hunter looked and saw that another woman had joined the group who was crouching down to the little girls level and scolding her.
Hunter assumed that woman was her mom and felt bad that she was being scolded. Hunter felt it was his fault for calling her a boy so he let go of the teachers had, running swiftly over to the woman.
He lightly tugged on her shirt, catching her attention and turning around to face him, still crouched close to the ground.
"Excuse me Mrs. are you her mama?" Hunter asks and the woman smiles at him and says she is.
"Ok I'm Hunter and I just wanna tell you I'm sorry for calling her a boy."
"Nice to meet you Hunter and it's not your fault sweetie you didn't know, my daughter here is the one who should apologize." The girls mom says and gives her child a look; her daughter huffs.
The little girl walks over to Hunter and mumbles "sorry"
Her mother said her name in a warning tone. "Blossom." Like it was code for she didn't like the way she apologized and to do better.
"I'm sorry for throwing sand in your eyes...and for pushing you...and for yelling." The girl now had a name, Blossom.
"That's the prettiest name I've ever heard." He said plainly, Blossom gave the boy a weird look and looked back at her mom who started to giggle.
The teacher that had washed Hunter's eyes comes back over and asks politely if Hunter would like to go inside now. He says yes then waves bye at his new love.
"That kid is weird." Blossom says and Natalie glares once more.
"We are gonna have a talk about this behavior later tonight young lady. You behave at school, got it?" Natalie says and she nods in response.
Then Natalie gives her a hug bye before exiting the elementary school through the front gate, leaving Blossom alone once again.

The school bell rung for the final time that day and all of the students began to line up to ride the bus or be picked up by their parents some even just walking home.
