Most people dream about living in huge cities with massive, shiny, skyscrapers and a pizza shop around every corner. Crowds of people surrounding you everywhere you turn, never quiet and certainly never dull.

Now all of that is fine and dandy, but not for a tight knit group of friends.

Ask any of them and they will tell you where they would wanna be forever and always.

That place is an island off the coast of Virginia, close enough to still be claimed by the USA and apart of Virginia but far enough you have to take a 20 minute ferry ride to reach it.

Where the summers are warm and sunny and the winter is just the right amount of cold to where it won't freeze off your nose.

Where the Autumn season is everyone's favorite because of the brightly colored fall leaves decorating every tree and the springs gave the hills soft little flowers, making the residents forget how much they love autumn until it comes around again.

Where it's not too big and not too small. Where everyone says hello to each other on the street while passing by. Where most people don't pick for their summer or winter vacations but the residents all know what everyone else is missing.

   This place is named Westmount.

This oversized rock in the ocean became a home to 2 young lovers, recently married, recently separated by the husband's deployment in the army but the 2 weren't over come by sadness.

She knew he would at least have a beautiful home to come back to after all is said and done and he knew he would have an even more beautiful wife waiting for him there...along with 3 other balls of energy and joy.

The year was 1988, a whole 6 years since the couple had their first child, a baby girl named Blossom. 1 short year passed after that and they had a second baby girl named Elena along with adopting a baby boy named Ethan from Natalie's, the wife, sister a few months after.

Now Trent, the husband, was no longer deployed and had the time to be with his family until they reassigned him of course.

It just so happened to be the night before the 3 siblings started their first day of kindergarten, and all of them were beaming with excitement

   There was just one problem.

"That's the last of it, the very last phone call. Can you believe every hair salon is either closed or doesn't have any available spots for 3 kid's hair to be cut before school the next morning?! Ridiculous." Natalie hissed, slamming the phone book closed and hanging up their land line back in its original spot.

She ran her fingers through her shoulder length blonde hair, the faded pink tips almost blending into her hair until they settled back at the bottom. One more hair cut should get rid of any traces of the pink for good but she wasn't going to go any shorter than she was now.
