They actually married

The wedding date arrived in an instant and, if Lewis's stag party had been one of the wildest parties Monte Carlo has ever seen, Melissa's hen party, on the contrary, had been in proportion a tea with the biscuits with her friends. They hadn't really had tea and biscuits but it couldn't compare between the two parties.
The ceremony had been very quiet, everything had gone smoothly and Melissa had entered the dress without any problems. The makeup had worked wonders and had hidden the terrible dark circles that had tormented her for months. Lewis was so happy he could touch the sky with his finger, he was blinded by joy and couldn't see anything beyond his nose. During the promises he became emotional, while still maintaining a certain composure. The voice that cracked, the sincere smile, the loving look and the moist eyes...
They had danced for hours and hours without getting tired and had also played various games. They had planned entertainment and the children were in another room playing, although some had collapsed sleeping in the corner.
It was a very special meeting between the in-laws but Melissa and Lewis laughed about it. The guests were divided in half, between Italians and internationals but as we know, alcohol is a universal language and Italians always make themselves understood, with gestures.

At a certain point in the evening they placed two chairs in the center of the room and made the couple sit on their backs. Everyone had two shoes in their hands, one their own and the other their partner's. Their best friends would take turns asking funny questions and the two of them would have to raise their shoe in response to make it clear who they were talking about. For example, to the question "who said I love you first?" Melissa had lifted Lewis's shoe and he had lifted his; to the question "who is more proud?" they had both raised Melissa's white heels.
They had fun for a couple of minutes and after the usual "Who is more disorderly? Who apologizes first after an argument?", Charles (Leclerc) picked up the microphone and asked: -Now a difficult one! Which of the two is pregnant? -
Melissa raised her heel. The room sighed and Lewis turned away.
-Really?-
The girl nodded her head and in a second her husband threw himself on her and held her. At that moment time stopped and they melted into an embrace, there were only the two of them at that moment.
-Are we expecting a baby?- Lewis moaned with tears falling uncontrollably.
-yes!- Melissa exclaimed very happily.
-How long have you known?-
-I just found out about it a month ago-
-When did it happen?- he asked incredulously and Melissa looked at him almost sarcastically –Do you remember that time in the back seat of your car?-
-Really?-
-I don't know, it could also have been the restaurant bathroom...-
They looked into each other's eyes and burst out laughing, held hands and kissed. Celebratory whistles and various rounds of applause erupted while on one side of the room the Italians who understood English translated to the other guests who were less likely to chew it.
Melissa's mother was clearly upset that she was the last one to find out, she had to wait for someone to explain the situation to her before finding out. When they managed to find a moment, they discussed it in a corner while everyone was distracted.

-Why do not you tell me?-
-What, mom?-
-That you are with child-
-I've known this for a month!-
-But that Parisian boy already knew it and told everyone about it-
-First of all, he is Monegasque. According to us we agreed, it seemed like a nice idea-
-There?-
-Yes, to me, to Amelie and to Chiara. They helped me-
-And why didn't you ask me?-
-Because you were too busy with work and you couldn't have helped me with the wedding preparations then you would have surely told those two colleagues of yours, who don't know how to keep their mouths shut and the whole world would have known before Lewis. And I didn't want it-
-I would have kept it to myself if you had asked me- she lied.
But at a wedding the absence of the bride does not go unnoticed and soon Melissa began to be looked for.
-Do we really want to argue on my wedding day?-
Filippa hugged her daughter, who received the hug passively.
Chiara pulled her out of that situation, the situation had become quite embarrassing and that girl had been a godsend.
The celebrations ended at an awkward time to say the least and everyone returned to their respective quarters either drunk or with sore feet or both.

The following morning Melissa was woken up by the smell of hot croissant and got out of bed, they had rented a small apartment for a week to be more comfortable and live the days that immediately preceded and followed in a slightly more intimate way the marriage.
-Good morning- Lewis smiled at her dressed.
-Good morning, where have you been?-
-At the bar, I got your favorite croissant and a cappuccino-
-Cappuccino too? Thank you very much, you didn't have to!-
-It was the least, especially after almost melting the coffee maker because I couldn't heat the milk with that thing- they both laughed wrapped in a hug.
