"So what happened?" Jude asked, opening a yogurt.

"I asked her out, and she said she would think about it," I stated.

"Really?" He asked.

I wish I had asked her out...

"No, I haven't asked her out yet, and I get the impression she might think I'm interested in someone else."

Jude chuckled. "There's no way you believe she's clueless. You may not show it, but you've got to tell her how you feel before it's too late."

"Like how too late?"

He shrugged. "I don't know until she moves past her feelings and finds someone else."

"I will tell her, but I need to find the right moment."

"I hope so, but what happened to focusing solely on your music career instead of being in a relationship to avoid distractions in your life?"

Indeed, I made that promise and am still committed to it, although I'm concerned I might not be able to keep it.

"I guess I changed my mind on that."

Derrick came downstairs holding a box labeled 'Home Videos' and placed it on the couch.

"I was searching for something in the basement when I came across a box filled with numerous tapes," Derrick explained.

"Huh, interesting. I never knew Dad had been recording things during our childhood, even though he—"

I cut Jude off. "Let's watch one of the videos."

****************

5 hours later

"Do you think after looking at these videos, we could still had two parents living with us?" Jude asked.

I shrugged. "I don't know but-"

"You can honestly tell that they didn't really love each other." Derrick said.

Jude scoffed. "Then what is the point of being married?"

"I wish I knew." Derrick said.

"Yeah look maybe their marriage was a failure but the love they had for us is way more different than that." I stated.

"Probably to Mom but to Dad he abandoned us and then decided to come back to our fucking life." Jude spoke.

I really hate Derrick for bringing the box up here because he is the reason for this argument but Jude is not wrong though.

"If it was the other way around, would you be mad at mom?" I asked.

He rolled his eyes at me. "Of course I would Frankie."

"Why can't we just move on with this like he been back in our life for years and is trying to make amends." Derrick said.

"I am out of here." Jude said as he walked to the front door and opening the door.

"Where are you going?" I questioned.

"It is none of your business but I will back for dinner and if not then see you guys in the morning." He said, before leaving.

I sighed. "This is all your fault man."

"How is this my fault Frankie?" Derrick defended himself .

"If you didn't bring this box up here then we wouldn't have this stupid argument." I told Derrick.

To be honest I kinda wish I could talk to mom again but I don't have her number and the only person that knows is Dad even though I don't think he will give it to me.... Oh well I can try but it is going to take a lot of convincing to do.
