Author's Note:

I'm sorry for the late update.

FAYE

Propping up an elbow on the front desk, Faye skims through the lists of guests who set foot in the building that day. It's about two pages long; mostly interviewee for Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd.

Having more than one company in the building is already hard for Faye to be familiar with everyone. And now, one of the big corporation inside is on a mass hiring, it seems.

A sigh escaped her lips without her knowing.

The keen receptionist caught it still. The woman rests her chin on her knuckles before leaning closer. "Did you find what you're looking for?"

Faye's engrossment in scanning the pages made her almost forget about the woman in front of her.

She straightens the sheet and gives the folder back.

"I don't think so. Thankfully."

What did she expect, anyway? That Aditeph Sakda will barge in, jot down his name and come after Yoko?

Now, she's thinking about it. It's highly unlikely.

So far, after re-searching about the escaped outlaw for a couple of weeks, Faye didn't see any motives that may result in possible attacks. If anything, she believes that Aditeph escaped just to see his daughter.

Faye bites her lips.

After knowing Sakda is Ryn's father, Faye doesn't have the guts to tell Yoko the truth.

What if her boss make her choose between being Ryn's guardian or Yoko's bodyguard?

When Yoko finds out, there's no way she can't be with the both of them.

"Faye?"

"Oh," Faye mutters with a chuckle.

She's been overthinking a lot lately.

"Actually, I'm not sure what I'm looking for."

The receptionist plays with her ballpen, staring momentarily at the ceiling. "I don't see someone suspicious, if that helps."

Faye nods and smiles at the woman. "It does. Thank you."

Looking up at the large wall clock of the reception, Faye tucks her small notebook and prepares to leave.

It's past 4pm, anyway. She doesn't think guests will come anymore.

"I'll see you tomorrow."

"I'll call you if something's amidst. Oh!"

The woman's exclaim makes Faye turn again. "Are you alright?"

"Yes," Janice said with a chuckle, straightening her hair. She puts something on the desk with a timid smile. "Someone sent this for you."

With a few strides, she's back on the front desk, regarding the intricately folded paper with a smile.

It's a swan origami.

Faye can still recognize the shiny cream paper that she bought for Ryn for the kid's birthday.

She picks it carefully, as though it's something fragile.

"My landlord's granddaughter loves making this," Faye said, proudly showing it to Janice.

She's fond of arts and crafts, but somehow, folding paper and turning it into something more beautiful isn't one of her forte.
