MIKHA'S POV

Maaga ulit ako pumasok ngayon, instead of heading to the library, which is likely still closed, I walk straight to my class to avoid being mistaken for a thief again.

Masama ang loob ko sa girlfriend ni Gwen.

To my luck, the classroom door isn't locked when I twist the doorknob.

I smile to myself as I enter the room.

However, my smile quickly fades when I see our student teacher busy typing on her laptop, completely unaware of my presence.

She's wearing a white tank top under a khaki jacket and khaki trouser paired with her specs.

She looks mature, presentable, and pretty.

If I didn't know she was a student, I would have mistaken her for a professor.

Her side profile is just as impressive, making me amazed at how good-looking she is.

Damn, Mikha Lim, you compliment her a lot.

I mentally chastise myself, reminding myself to stop staring and drool over her.

Huh?

Drool?

Over

Her?

Hindi ko branding ‘yon.

Pero It’s not like I haven’t seen her before, but there’s something about her presence  that makes me uneasy.

Para ako laging hindi mapakali pag malapit s'ya and started to creep me out.

I walk to my chair quietly, hoping to slip in na hindi n'ya napapansin.

Pero asa harap lang pala ng table n'ya ‘yong upuan ko.

“Good morning, Mikha.” Aiah says, noticing me as I settle into my seat.

Morning.” I reply, trying to sound casual.

I reminded myself hundred times kagabi na hindi ako masyadong makikipag interact sa kaniya para iwas attention.

My friends told me last night na usap usapan daw ‘yong pag hila sa'kin nong gf ni Gwen and mag kasama kami mag lunch ni Mama Mary kahapon.

She gives me a warm smile and continues typing on her laptop.

"I didn’t expect anyone else to be here so early, may kailangan ka ba?"

I shake my head, trying to keep my composure.

"No, I’m good. Just wanted to get an early start on some reading." I reply, pulling out my book na hiniram ko sa kaniya kahapon and putting on my earphones to signal that I’m not up for any conversation.

Aiah nods, her smile still warm as she returns to her laptop.

I mentally smiled, feeling relieved that I’ve managed to keep the interaction brief.

AIAH'S POV

I was busy doing something on my laptop while stealing occasional glances at Mikha.

She’s deeply engrossed in the book she borrowed from me, to the point where she hasn’t noticed that I've been looking at her for quite some time now.

Nasobrahan s'ya sa pagiging tahimik kaya hindi kinakaya ng pagiging madaldal ko para makapag usap kami.

Whenever I try to initiate a conversation, she responds politely, but it's clear from her tone that she doesn’t want to talk.
