NO ONE'S POV

Aiah, Maloi, Sheena, and Stacey sat around a long table, waiting for the others to arrive before the meeting could start.

Maloi was there as the representative of her family's company, having taken over since she graduated.

Stacey and Sheena were in the same situation, managing their respective family businesses.

As for Aiah, she didn't really have much choice. Colet had pleaded with her and explained everything in detail.

At first, she was hesitant, but eventually, she felt bad for her sister and agreed to help manage the company.

This meant quitting her current job.

The three girls were busy chatting, completely unaware of the meeting's agenda.

Their parents had simply instructed them to attend this meeting at one of the buildings owned by Lim Company.

Meanwhile, Aiah was sitting comfortably in her chair, her eyes closed.

She was exhausted, not because of her writing, but because of the new tenant in the unit next to hers.

The noise from that room had been relentless, even past midnight.

Aiah had tried her best to resist storming over to file a complaint, figuring the new tenant might not yet be familiar with the building's rules and regulations.

So, for now, she let it slide.

Business tycoons began arriving, the first to enter were Mikha's parents along with her grandparents.

They were soon followed by Gwen, Colet, Jhoanna, and Ashley's families, prompting the girls to stand as a sign of respect and shake hands with everyone.

"Oh, the heiresses are the ones joining us in this meeting, huh?" Jhoanna's mother remarked while shaking hands with them.

When it was Aiah's turn to greet her biological parents, she extended her hand awkwardly, but was caught off guard when her mother suddenly pulled her into a hug.

"I'm sorry for this, but we couldn't help it, anak." her mother said dramatically. Aiah stood frozen in place but allowed it to happen.

She couldn't deny the warmth spreading through her system when she heard the word "anak" and felt the embrace.

They held the hug for about two seconds before pulling apart, and everyone returned to their seats.

"Just a minute, ladies, we're waiting for-oh, they're here." Mikha's father announced, causing everyone to turn towards the new arrivals.

Maloi's gaze locked on Colet, and she felt a slight twitch in her heart.

She couldn't help but admire the girl.

Colet was wearing a sleek lady's suit with glasses and had colored her hair an ash brown.

Sheena's eyes lingered on her ex-girlfriend, Gwen, who seemed taller than she remembered. Gwen's hair was longer now, with a new color.

Stacey and Aiah, on the other hand, had their eyes fixed on Jhoanna.

Stacey admired her but noticed something different-the girl's aura felt dull, stoic, with no trace of the playful Jhoanna they once knew.

Aiah, however, was hit with a rush of emotions just by looking at Jhoanna.

Guilt and regret from the past started creeping back into her system.

They all shook hands again as a sign of professionalism.

When Stacey reached Jhoanna, she felt something-a spark.
