Recap: The team has been chasing a drug cartel responsible for killing a Navy Lieutenant who saw a drug deal. While on a stakeout, DiNozzo and the reader went missing. A few hours later, DiNozzo escaped the cartel, leaving Y/N behind. As the team searched for her, the head of the cartel, Antonio Mendez, called and demanded money for her safe return. After 48 hours, Antonio Mendez called Gibbs. The last thing Gibbs, McGee, and DiNozzo heard was a gunshot.

The second the line went dead, the three men grabbed their gear and instantly went to the address that McGee found. Gibbs parked and they ran into the building. They didn't bother arresting anyone. All three were only thinking about one thing; revenge.

Gibbs glanced into the last room left which hadn't been torn apart. He tightened his hold on his gun when he saw the man responsible for all of this. The agents snuck into the room as he walked around like an arrogant son of a bitch.

"I had no choice," the guy sighed. Gibbs almost froze when he saw who the dealer was talking to. "Your team didn't come in time."

"Are you sure about that?" Gibbs smirked when the guy turned around and was greeted by Gibbs's gun. "McGee, DiNozzo, get Y/L/N out of here."

McGee and DiNozzo instantly put their guns in their holsters and ran over to Y/N. DiNozzo started undoing her restraints while McGee pressed his fingers to her neck.

"She's got a pulse," McGee said, "but it's weak."

"EMTs are three minutes away," DiNozzo said. He looked up when he heard McGee let out a shaky breath. "You okay?"

"There's no bullet wound, Tony."

"Wait," DiNozzo said slowly, "so he didn't. . ."

"He pulled the trigger," McGee said, his voice soft. "We all heard it. I was. . . I was so sure we were going to find her dead."

"But we didn't," DiNozzo said, his eyes also on an unconscious Y/N. "She's alive."

"How is she?" Gibbs asked as he jogged over. He knelt next to her and gently moved some hair out of her face.

"Where's. . ."

"He's locked in the trunk of my car," Gibbs said. DiNozzo and McGee shared a look before turning back to Y/N.

"She took a beating, Gibbs," McGee said gently. Gibbs pressed his fingers to her neck and waited for her pulse.

"But she's alive," Gibbs said, letting out his own sigh of relief.

The three men froze when they heard a weak groan.

"Y/N?" Gibbs said gently. They held their breaths as they waited for her to wake up. "Come on, Y/N. Open your eyes for us."

"Boss?" Y/N said weakly.

"We're here," Gibbs said. "We got you, kid."

DiNozzo and McGee finished undoing Y/N's restraints. Once she was free, Gibbs gently helped her to her feet. She took a step, but her legs gave out. He instantly picked her up bridal-style.

"I got you, Y/N," he whispered. "I always got you."

Just then the EMTs came running into the room. DiNozzo and McGee stepped out of the way but closely watched the EMTs take care of Y/N. Gibbs never left her side. He helped the EMTs gently place Y/N onto a gurney.

"I'm riding with Y/L/N," he said firmly. "Wrap up here."

Gibbs sat in the waiting room when DiNozzo and McGee ran in.

"Where is she?"

"What did her doctors say?"

"They haven't said anything," he said, shutting both of them up. "They're still examining her."

DiNozzo and McGee sighed as they sat next to Gibbs. The three men waited impatiently for a doctor to come and let them know how Y/N was doing. A few hours passed and still nothing.

"Is she okay? Did they save her? I mean, I know you guys saved her but. . ."

"Abby," McGee gently cut her off. "They haven't told us anything."

"But it's been like three hours," Abby pouted.

"These things take time, my dear," Ducky tried to soothe her.

"For Agent Y/F/N Y/L/N?"

"Or it just takes Ducky," Gibbs smirked as he stood up and walked over to the doctor. "How is she, doc?"

"It took some time but we finally got her vitals under control," the doctor started to explain. "Once they were normal, we started to check her out. She's severely dehydrated, has serious malnutrition, and she has taken quite the beating. Her body is covered in bruises, cuts, and dried blood. She has several broken ribs, a busted-up lip, a bruised left eye, and a dislocated right shoulder. She took one hell of a beating, Agent Gibbs."

"We're aware," Gibbs sighed.

"Can we see her?" Abby asked, bouncing on her toes.

"She's still pretty out of it," the doctor slightly hesitated to say, "but I can send someone to get you once we have her in a room."

This time, it only took a little over half an hour before a nurse came and got them. As soon as the nurse walked up to Gibbs, the team jumped up. They followed her without a word down the hall and around the corner. When they stopped outside a room, she left them. Gibbs slowly opened the door.

They walked into the room and saw Agent Y/L/N sleeping in the hospital bed. Without a word, they sat around her room and waited for her to wake up. This wait wasn't as bad. They had the heart monitor's steady beep to hold onto.

"What do you plan on doing to the bastard who did this to our sweet Y/N?" Ducky asked as everyone watched Y/N sleep.

"I was thinking Cuba."

"You're gonna send the leader of a drug cartel in Virginia to Gitmo?" DiNozzo asked with a small chuckle.

"I can put a terrorism twist on it," Gibbs shrugged. No one objected or told Gibbs that that was wrong. If they had their way, Mendez would go through exactly what he did to Y/N.

"She's going to wake up, right?" Abby whispered. Gibbs walked over and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"She will," he whispered. "Y/N's strong. She's going to be okay. And we will be here for her when she wakes up."

They didn't have to wait much longer. A little under an hour later, the team heard something that made all of them relax.

"Someone. . . Help. . ." Y/N mumbled.

"Y/N?" McGee sat up straighter. They held their breaths as her eyes slowly fluttered open.

"Tim," she whispered. Her eyes slowly scanned the room and she took in the worried faces of her team. "You guys. . . You found me."

"Of course we found you, Y/L/N," DiNozzo chuckled. "We weren't going to let that druggie take you from us."

Y/N's eyes filled with tears as her mind slowly cleared up and she remembered what happened the last couple of days.

"Did you. . . Did you catch him?" She asked, her voice breaking.

"We got him," Gibbs said instantly. Y/N's eyes closed but tears escaped as she leaned her head against the pillow. When she felt someone take her hand, so she intertwined their fingers. She opened her eyes to see it was McGee who was holding her hand.

"Thank you," she whispered.

"Of course, Y/L/N," DiNozzo smiled.

McGee squeezed her hand as he gently said, "We always have your back, Y/L/N."
