Theron - Meeting her again.

Waking up is such a pain.

You come out of the best dream or sleep and see that your entire job, or life is a mess because you left it to someone incapable of doing anything simple.

I walked into my office this morning and found the window open and someone sitting on the ledge.

Before jumping down, they stared directly at me for a couple minutes.

I couldn't move.

They had a bunch of paper in their hands and from what I'm guessing, wanted me to see them.

As I sat on my office chair I contemplated what exactly I was trying to process.

When I finally figured it out I told a maid that had brought me wine, I said I had a headache and craved something strong, to get Raven for me.

About 10 minutes later he was in front of me bowing.

"Arise raven" I told him. As he did I saw a dark red shirt underneath his suit.

He already knew.

And he was pissed.

I told him to take a walk with me, thinking it would at least calm him down a little.

The colors of my banners in the halls were blue and black, with a little white.

My guards were colored red, blue, and black. Red for the color of blood since my house was originally war generals for the imperial family.

Ever since the emperor got sick people started sympathizing him and believed that if their ruler could forgive the majio then they should too.

So out came the blue, black, and white colored banners.

The white being a symbol of the majio.

As I zoned back in and we were walking down the hall I noticed something gruesome.

All of my guards in front of rooms were hit someplace where it was visible.

Raven kept walking as if he didn't see nothing, yet I know he did. He's always the most observant person in the room. Nothing ever escapes him.

"Raven. Stop." When he didn't I did, and continued talking. "What happened wasn't your fault. Nor the guards, it was mine."

I know he hates it when I assume things, always wants me to ask and talk them out, but then he'll have to talk to me.

Until he does im going to assume he did this.

And show some other emotion then the one he currently has on his face, anger.

"If I had been the one guarding your office..." was all I heard in response.

I know how ruthless Raven could be when pissed, and even though I try to be the mean boss who is more dangerous then the entire crew Raven is actually the one to be feared.

I know though these guards must have been knocked out-

"What're you thinking about arch duke?" Raven asked taking me out of my thoughts.

When I looked at him I found him turned around, reading me quietly.

It was a start.

"These guards weren't knocked out by force or killed," I said to him.

"Also I couldn't move. The minute the thief looked at me, my limbs were frozen." He nodded with his back turned to me.

Then I was whispering to each guards we passed to go the physicians room and get the bruises checked out.

Raven was in a trance, walking ahead of me so every guard we passed took off.

I'm to be respected not feared.

I protect those in my circle, and my circle includes my protecters.

"They must have been knocked out with poison that doesn't kill just puts you to sleep." I finished.

"You are not considering the possibility of magic." He replied.

"Was that a question Raven or a statement?"

"You know what it was Theron. I appreciate a answer."

"No." I told him. "I wasn't, until now. I should say, the person jumped from my office which is the fourth story up.  No way would they survive that without magic."

"There you go. Your thinking like a duke again." He said.

I stopped."the fact that they weren't scared of me means they knew they were stronger." He pulled me along as I continued, because by this time most guards were stopping to listen.

"I couldn't see the hair. You know you can tell a Majio by their hair and eyes. This one, I don't know, had their eyes covered."

"It was a majio, your grace. I want to search the room for clues please." I was going to say no then he threw in:

"At least then I'll feel a little better about this whole thing."

"Don't over exert yourself, you'll end up hurting yourself, they weren't important documents." I found myself replying immediately.

"They were still documents, your grace. And they stole from the crest house."

Seriously, why does everyone say my last name when pissed?

"Your grace!!" A guard came running, holding something.

After a few seconds he reached us panting.

"It's a letter from the imperial castle. It is to be responded to immediately, your grace." He said.

"Yes I know how the imperial letters work." I replied, opening the golden envelope.

The guard left bowing, knowing my answer without me saying it.

Besides its not like there's a choice. A imperial summon was not allowed to be turned down.

It read:
        Your presence is requested
                      It is urgent.

I sighed.

What was the point of becoming the arch duke if no one will even put any respect to the name?

That's when I saw it:

                         Signed: majio Odessa

"Prepare the carriages!!" I yelled, feeling myself grinning.

Raven was watching me the entire time, and just shook his head when he saw me smile.

"Am I going your grace?" He asked, not facing me.

"Of course you are Raven, your my advisor. I need you there." I replied facing him instead.

30 minutes later the carriages were ready.

As we were getting in the carriages Raven turned to me and said:

"The guards were already talking about the incident, which is how I knew. You cant even trust those in your walls, because the minute a juicy piece of gossip comes along everyone will know."

I was stunned. Normally it takes him quiet a long time to release the anger, yet it's only been an hour or two.

And normally he has to fight it out.

"That's why If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself, Arch duke Theron."

"I know, I know" I whispered, sitting in my seat and finally the carriages taking off.

The rest of the ride was silent.
