**Author's POV**

A few minutes after Irina left, Five decided he couldn't ignore her act of being "okay" any longer. He walked up to her room, heart pounding, and pushed the door open. Inside, he found her on the bed, her face streaked with tears. Her eyes, dark and intense with hunger, looked up at him, revealing the pain she'd been hiding.

In a flash, Irina crossed the room and pinned him against the wall. Her gaze was wild, and her fangs were fully extended.

"Five," she growled, her voice strained and desperate.

"Irina, stop." Five said, his voice steady but full of concern. "Now tell me what's going on."

Irina's face softened slightly, but the hunger still lingered. "I haven't fed since I attacked one of the Sparrows. The hunger is unbearable. I didn't want to hurt anyone, but I can't control it anymore."

Five's heart ached for her. "You should have told me. We'll figure this out together."

Irina's breath was heavy and desperate. "I'm scared, Five. I don't want to hurt you, or anyone."

He gently cupped her face, bringing her close, his thumb brushing away a stray tear. "I trust you, Irina. You need to feed, and I'm here for you."

Her eyes, filled with a mix of gratitude and hunger, searched his face. She nodded, tears mingling with her fear.

Slowly, Five tilted his head, exposing his neck. Irina hesitated for a moment, her eyes darting between his gaze and the inviting warmth of his skin. Finally, she sank her fangs in. The initial bite was sharp, but she quickly adjusted, her touch becoming more tender and gentle. Five's hand moved to the back of her head, holding her close, his fingers tangled in her hair as she fed.

The intimacy of the moment was palpable. Every soft gasp and shudder from Irina made Five's heart race, and he could feel her hunger gradually easing. The connection between them was deep and profound, a blend of trust and vulnerability that solidified their bond.

As Irina pulled away, her breath came in shallow, relieved bursts. "Feel better?" Five asked softly.

She nodded, tears still shimmering on her cheeks. "Yes, but there's something I need to tell you."

Five guided her to sit on the bed, keeping her hands in his. "What is it?"

Irina took a deep breath, her eyes locked on his. "I know you were always curious about how Kai and I ended up together so I will tell you the whole story... I wasn't supposed to date Kai. When he escaped the prison world, for the first time  he saw me and sensed something in me—something that made him believe I was meant for him. Damon had warned me about Kai, but when Kai finally approached me, I resisted. He used magic on me, made me like him and forced my humanity off, saying that emotional me was too boring. I was a ripper—someone who loses all control and kills without remorse. I was dangerous. I killed my Damons  girlfriend's brother. I hurt people because I couldn't stop myself."

Five's grip on her hands tightened. "Irina, I'm so sorry you went through that."

Irina's voice was trembling. "My brothers and friends eventually broke the spell and restored my humanity. They killed Kai, but the trauma lingers. I'm terrified of losing control again."

Five looked deeply into her eyes, his expression a mix of resolve and affection. "You're not defined by your past, Irina. You're here now, and you're not alone."

Her eyes softened with gratitude. "Thank you for understanding. I didn't think I could ever feel this way again."

"Maybe we can start over, together," Five said gently.

A hopeful smile touched Irina's lips. "I'd like that. So, are we...?"

"Yeah," Five replied, his smile warm and sincere. "We're together."

Their newfound relationship was sealed with a tender, heartfelt kiss. The sense of peace and connection they shared was undeniable, a promise of a future where they faced their fears and hopes side by side.

Eventually, Irina and Five made their way back to the group. They shared a few drinks, and after a little while, Five stood up, gently pulling Irina to her feet.

"We have some news," Five announced, his arm around Irina's waist.

The group looked up, their curiosity piqued. "We're together," Irina said, her voice filled with happiness and relief.

Luther, Klaus, and the rest of the siblings cheered, raising their glasses in a toast. "About time!" Klaus shouted, winking at Five.

After the celebrations, Irina and Five slipped away to the outside balcony. The sky was a mix of colors, the chaos of the apocalypse painting a surreal yet oddly beautiful scene.

Irina leaned on Five's shoulder, her eyes taking in the view. Despite the end of the world looming, there was a strange sense of peace between them. The distant rumble of destruction was a stark contrast to the quiet, intimate moment they shared.

"This is a pretty nice way to watch the end of the world," Irina murmured, her voice tinged with irony.

Five chuckled softly. "Yeah, I guess if you have to face the apocalypse, doing it with you makes it a little better."

They stayed like that for a while, talking quietly, sharing stories, and enjoying the fleeting moments of calm. Five's family joined them on the balcony, and they all took in the surreal beauty of the world ending together. Despite everything, there was a sense of unity and hope, a feeling that as long as they were together, they could face whatever came next.

Irina felt a warmth in her heart, a feeling she hadn't experienced in a long time. Leaning closer into Five, she whispered, "I'm glad I have you."

Five squeezed her hand gently, his voice soft but firm. "We're going to get through this, Irina. Together."

As the night went on, they laughed, reminisced, and for a moment, forgot about the chaos around them. The family bond was stronger than ever, and amidst the uncertainty, they found solace in each other.
