You can imagine my surprise when I open the door to see Damon and Stefan with an Original vampire. Mikael. The vampire hunter who just happens to be Klaus's father.

Elena is here too, and apparently we are formulating a plan for Mikael to kill Klaus. I know that I should be ecstatic that Klaus will be dead tonight, but I'm not sure if I am.

It seems pretty messed up to lure him here for his own father to kill him. I'm still going to help with the plan though.

We're currently trying to figure out the best way to trick Klaus. Stefan is supposed to stay loyal, but Mikael threatened to kill him and Damon if they don't help.

Fortunately for Damon, he wants to kill Klaus anyways.

"Let's say that Mikael followed Elena in here. He tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait," Stefan says.

"And you what? Vervained him?"

"No, we vervained him! This guy is an Original. To make it realistic."

"Okay, fine. We vervained him, and in the process discovered that he had a dagger," Stefan explains.

"Which he planned to use on Rebekah, but instead..."

"We drove it through his heart."
"And what happens when he asks to see Mikael's body?" I ask.

"Good point.  So the idea is to lure him back here and kill him...last thing we need is anyone getting tripped up and tongue-tied."

"Well, don't look at me. I am just in charge of getting him back here," Stefan shrugs.

"Klaus is smart. If we tell him that Mikael is dead, he might want proof by asking Stefan," I say.

"Then I shall be dead," Mikael declares.

"What if he wants to see you in person?"

"Well that means our plan is working. Klaus will absolutely want to see my body. You lure him here, and I will kill him."

"With what? Those daggers won't work on him."

"Well, I'm in possession of a stake fashioned from the wood of the ancient white oak tree. The one that left these ashes when it burned."

"Where is it?"

"Not here. The knowing of its location is my insurance policy."

"Against what?"

"You leaving this in my heart. You see, a vampire can't dagger an original without dying. So...it falls to one of you."

I offer to take it, but Elena grabs it instead. "It's ok, I can do it."

"Klaus will leave nothing to chance- especially when it comes to trust."

Elena throws the dagger into Mikael's heart.

"I think you should make the call to Klaus," Stefan tells me.

"What? Why me?"

"Because he clearly has a little soft spot for you," Damon chuckles.

I groan and dial the number that they give me. "Klaus."

It's almost like I can hear his smirk through the phone. "Hello, love. In case you were wondering, Portland is fantastic. I miss you."

I take a deep breath. "Your father is dead."

"What?"

"Mikael is daggered, Klaus."

"First, you're going to tell me what happened, sweetheart."

I explain to him exactly what we practiced.

"I wanna see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself."

"Well, he is here. Come by whenever."

"Pass the phone to Rebekah, love."

I listen and give it to her. "Hello, Nik."

The main reason we daggered Mikael is so Stefan's compulsion won't expose him. "Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with the dagger?"

"It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good. I miss you. I'm miserable here."

"I'll be home soon."

"Good. I'll see you then, brother."

"Tell Juliette that I look forward to our reunion."She hangs up the phone and turns to the others.

"He bought it. He's coming home. Oh, and Juliette. Klaus says he looks forward to your reunion."

I sigh with a tingle running down my skin again. Of course he wants to see me.

"Now- was that easy or what?" Damon says as Elena pulls the dagger out of Mikael's chest.

I put on the dress that Rebekah gave me. The color suits my dark hair and paler skin perfectly. I want to find her before I leave just to give her a thanks.

I check in all of the rooms until I find her body daggered and lifeless with Elena and Damon standing before it.

"Why did you do that to her?" I demand. She was helping us.

Elena sighs. "We couldn't trust her."

"It doesn't seem right," I say.

"Rosie, don't you dare undagger her. It's not like she didn't deserve it anyways."

I look down at the dress that Rebekah got me. Did she really deserve it?

"If it makes you feel any better, she's not really dead," Damon shrugs. "By the way, you look hot."

I smile, hitting Damon in the arm. "Don't be a flirt, Damon."

As we're about to walk out of the door, Damon informs me that Stefan is insisting on going with Elena as her 'new bodyguard'. Damon happens to be my friend-date for the night.

"I can tell that you still like her, Damon."

Damon rolls his eyes. "It doesn't matter. It's always going to be Stefan."

I look up at him sincerely. "Hey, don't give up hope. Maybe it's just not the right time."

Damon smiles, fixing the blue corsage around my wrist. "Thanks, Rosie."

I get in the passenger seat of his car, but when we get to the high school, I find that almost everyone is waiting outside.

I quickly step out, Damon behind me. I see water on the ground and the fire department outside. I spot Tyler and Caroline. "What happened?"

"The gym flooded," Tyler replies.

"Dance is cancelled," Caroline mumbles.

Tyler grins. "The party's moved to my house."

Damon frowns. "You've got to be kidding me. I bought that corsage just to have a lame party at Lockwoof's mansion?"

I am quite disappointed that we're not having a real Homecoming, but I guess we can make the most of it. "Brighten up, D."
