Finally, after all the extra stress that was thrown on my back and the backs of the others in 9th grade, it was summer break. It has just started around a week ago but I had been enjoying myself. My home felt a little bit lonely because it was just me and my parents at home.
My eldest brother Lucas was already in college and as he left, he took my team spirit with him. He loved Soccer and as a child he'd always said that he'd love to be a Soccer player one day and now that's what he's doing. He got a soccer scholarship into Preston Spruce college all the way in Boston while we lived in California.
And My youngest brother, Levi was in middle school. He was my favorite but he liked Lucas more than me. He'd pay more attention to him, bought him gifts on holidays and on his birthdays but would only wish me on the same occasions. It hurt at first but after a while I got used to it.
Lucas and Levi had left yesterday evening because of their flight to France.
Yes you heard me, France. And yes you're right about what your thinking, it hurt me a lot that he didn't pick me to go with him but there's always next time, right?
I slept late yesterday because I went out to a friend's party. Well, it was more like I snuck out to a friend's party and I got exhausted because I had to wait for my parents to fall asleep before I could enter the house. My parents normally go to bed around 8 PM,- luckily the party was 9:00,- but they always wake up to check on me by 11 PM to make sure I was sleeping comfortably and I loved my parents for that, but yesterday that didn't help.
I had to leave the party early and rush back home. Obviously I climbed up my window to get into my room because I swear the front door screeches louder whenever I use it to sneak back home for whatever reason but it's as quiet as a mouse when Lucas used it to sneak girls into the house. It's like the hinges hate me for some unknown reason. *Me remembering all the time I slam the door hard shut whenever I'm in a bad mood*, maybe that's it's from of revenge.
I jumped through the window with one leg in and freshened up, I changed into my cute and very comfy corgi pajamas and fell asleep on my bed.
~The Next Morning~
I was abruptly woken up by a text message on my phone. It was currently 6:42 A.M and I wasn't really ready to get up from my bed after getting home late last night, so I decided to see who texted me and why. I unlocked my phone and went straight to WhatsApp and I saw it was a text from my bestie Ava.
[Ava]: Wake up sleepy head. Have you seen our new Uniforms? They just came out today. Our set is really special and I'm sure that's the reason why they decided to change the uniform in our time. Well girl I'm going to pick my uniform from school later today, you coming? Reply me ASAP.
As soon as I finished reading the text I immediately jumped out of bed excited to see the new Uniforms. I ran into that bathroom, Picked up my toothbrush and toothpaste and started brushing my teeth when I heard my mom call my name.
*Mom's POV*
Maya come down here I need to talk to you about something important.
"Okay Mom" I heard her say with her mouth full so I believed she was brushing her teeth.
"Come down when you've freshened up okay?"
And I heard her say okay.*Maya's POV*
I quickly showered, got dressed and came downstairs to see my mom sitting on the sofa with a Stern and serious but sad look on her face. Confused and concerned I ran up to my mom and asked her what was wrong and she tapped the seat beside her signalling me to sit down so I did.
The look mom had on her face was the look she always had when she wanted to tell us something important. She looked up to me and said the words I never thought I'd hear come out from her mouth
"You're changing schools."
