I opened my eyes, looked down and saw a book in my hand, I didn't realize when I dozed off. Still feeling sleepy I decided to close the book, keep it on my bedside table and go back to sleep then it hit me, Today was Luke's party and I slept off, I hit my head in disappointment. In fear and shock I hurriedly picked up my phone and looked at the time, "phew it's only 6:00 P.M, I still have an hour and 30 minutes to get ready" I said to myself.
Well I can't leave the house if my parents are still awake. My parents normally sleep by 8 P.M and I know that if my parents are up there won't be a chance for me to sneak out of the house. So I devised a plan.
I walked into the living room, where Mom and Dad were sitting on the couch, looking tired from a long day of work. "Hey, guys, why don't we unwind tonight?" I suggested, trying to sound as relaxed as possible. "I can make us some herbal tea, and we can listen to some calming music together."
Mom smiled, and Dad nodded, already looking like they were melting into the couch. I quickly got to work, brewing a soothing blend of chamomile and lavender tea, and putting on some soft instrumental music in the background. As we sipped our tea, I chatted with them about nothing in particular, keeping the conversation light and calming.
As the minutes ticked by, I could see their eyelids getting heavier, their breathing slowing down. I poured them each a refill, and we sat there in comfortable silence for a bit, the only sound being the gentle hum of the music. Before long, they were both yawning, and I knew my plan was working.
"Why don't you guys go rest for a bit?" I suggested, trying to sound concerned. "You both look like you could use a nap." Mom and Dad exchanged a glance, and then nodded in unison, getting up from the couch and shuffling off to their room. I watched them go, feeling a mix of relief and excitement – my plan had worked, and now I was free to get ready for the party.
*30 minutes later*
I just finished getting ready, I put on my clothes, stared myself down in my mirror packing my hair into a braided tendrils and all I was waiting for was a text from Ava and as if on queue my phone lit up in my bed side table, I picked it up my phone and saw Ava's text,
[Mays I hope you're ready because we're already beside your house, didn't want to park in front in case your parents were awake, hurry down xxxxx A]
I wanted to text her back but I know that would waste time so I decided to come out through my room window. I didn't want to pass the front door because I was too scared of opening the door, I didn't want the creaking sound to wake my parents up.
I got down from my window safely and unscratched too, looked around for Ava and lisa (Ava's sister) and found them in Lisa's mother fucking cybertruck. I was flabbergasted, overwhelmed, flabberwhelmed, I loved cybertrucks, they were mine and Ava's dream car and I found out after hopping into the car that it was Lisa's dream car as well.
Lisa is Ava's sister, shs's nice, lovely, pretty, rich, helpful and lived at her own house with her boyfriend, she just finished high school and was heading to college in a matter of a few weeks, after the summer holiday she'll be off to college.
Confused on how Mrs. Emily let Ava leave the house to Luke's party I asked them "Ava how did you get your mom to allow you go to Luke's overnight party?"
"She didn't" Ava said smiling
I looked at her confused urging her to continue
"Well..... I called Lisa telling her about the party and how I wanted to go really badly and that it may be the last party I get to go to with you before you leave to another school, Lisa agreed to take me and she said she'd cover up for me telling my mom that she wanted to spend more time with me because she'll be going to college soon"
"Smart" I said winking at Lisa and she winked back. I thanked her for helping us today and she said "no problem"
