"hello?" a sleepy manly voice appears as soojin clicks on the accept option.
"hello, sleepy head," soojin mocks. as a result she hears the man chuckling.
"sleepyhead?" he finds it cute with his all honesty. her eyes widen a bit at his morning voice. it would be a lie if she told she didn't find it attractive.
"what are you doing though? you said that you had woken up early, right?" he asks. soojin nods forgetting the fact they are merely talking on the phone and that he can not see her.
"hmm. i did. i have a project to complete. also you can say i don't have a class now, so basically it's my free time."
"soo," he calls out her name. she has noticed that jake randomly calls out her name. she wonders if that's just her habit or if he just likes calling her 'soo', the name she gave him because in that time she barely trusted him.
" yeah?"
"are you free tonight?"
"are you asking me out?" she jokes. "i- " before she could finish her statement, he speaks through the other side,
"do you want me to?" he asks.
she chuckles. "hey! i was joking," if she could see herself in the mirror she would notice her cheeks getting pink.
"i said if you want me to ask you out. do you?" he asks again.
she says nothing. "i-"
"alright, princess, you don't have to say anything. so are you free?" he asks again.
"yeah, jakey. i am," she smiles to herself. it's nothing new though. she has been always smiling nonstop wheather she was texting him or calling him. it was so natural that little did she notice.
"so i will pick you up, princess? see you!" his voice sounded more excited this time.
"okay, since i can't argue with that. i'll see you tonight, jakey!"
before she could cut the call, someone speaks.
"hey! who are you talking to?" it was none other than sophia her classmate.
soojin just shakes her head. "i'm coming!"
whenever it was about sophia, she felt uncomfortable. it feels as if the other girl is always trying to show off and prove that she is of higher standard.
"last time, i got this ring as a gift!" sophia says. the five of the teammates are now sitting at the cafeteria, discussing about the project.
"that's nice!"
"also guys, let's order something. i'm hungry. i'm sure none of y'all are in diets, right?" sophia eyes at soojin.
soojin notices sophia's stare. soojin recalls the last time she mentioned she was on a diet. seriously?
"soojin, shall we order this cheesecake? it's really nice!" sophia asks her.
it's not like soojin is always on diets. sometimes she just doesn't feel like herself. but everyone diets these days, especially in an era of all the crazy beauty standards, it's even hard to breath. but after jake's comments about that, her perspective has changed, even a little bit.
soojin just smiles. "sure. "
sophia frowns. "what? are you sure you're not dieting?" she laughs. "well, i mean, it's better to not. you're not a model after all, right?" she looks at jaehyun for an answer as he nods.
"uh well, i don't necessarily need to be a 'model' to have a good body, do i?" she kindly answers. "to be beautiful doesn't mean you need to belong somewhere."
