NONE OF THEM WERE ANXIOUS TO TRAVEL THAT NIGHT, SO THEY DECIDED TO WAIT UNTIL MORNING.
Viviene and Annabeth decided to crash on a large bed, and Percy wasn't too happy with Viviene being far from him. But when she gave him a glare Percy nodded and mumbled a good night.
They were laying in bed, holding hands and staring at the ceiling.
"We probably look like an old married couple." Viviene whispered to Annabeth. Annabeth snorted.
"We always look like an old married couple." Annabeth nodded along, a small smile on her face.
The room was silent, until Annabeth spoke up.
"Do you ever miss Holden, Viviene?"
Viviene tensed, closing her eyes.
Annabeth felt Viviene sit up and take her hand from hers.
"I'm sorry, Vee. But.. I just.." Annabeth sighed in frustration, sitting up opposite of Viviene and running a hand through her hair. "I miss Luke. Don't you miss Holden?"
"Of course I don't miss Holden." Viviene scoffed, crossing her arms." He betrayed me."
Annabeth had a confused look on her face.
"What about Luke?"
"Annabeth, I lost all the faith I had in Luke when he made you and Artemis hold up the sky."
"But that wasn't his fault!"
"No, sure it wasn't." Viviene shook her head, sarcasam lacing her tone.
"Why are you on this quest, then?" She asked." If not to find Luke and Holden. If not to help them. "
"I'm doing this for Percy, Annabeth!" Viviene spoke, her face screaming disbelief." for our sisters. Brothers. For Elodie. For everyone. For the half- bloods Kronos manipulated-"
"Luke is a part of those manipulated-"
"Luke made his own choice, ANnabeth! He tried to kill Percy and you, and me. I will never forgive him for that!" Viviene yelled in frustration. "Luke started the recruiting."
"He's not evil."
"Did you think that when he manipulated you into holding the sky instead of him?" Viviene asked her, frowning.
Annabeth stared at her hands.
"Exactly." Viviene nodded. " Luke's far too deep in the mess he started now, Annabeth. We can't save him anymore. It'd be a waste of time. We need to concentrate on defending camp-"
"Did you even care about Holden?" Annabeth snapped in frustration." Or was he just a phase to distract you from Luke's betrayal and the feelings you have for Percy?"
"What are you saying?" Viviene asked, eyes red." Are you indicating I used someone?"
"Well, Ares is your dad." Annabeth muttered." I wouldn't be surprised."
Viviene clenched her teeth, shaking her head at Annabeth.
"I'm not doing this." Viviene slipped out of the bed, grabbed her things and made her way out of the bedroom.
