We, people, are very strange creatures. We can talk, communicate easily, however we try not to when we most need it. We love and we understand that feeling, however we usually keep that a secret. And we... We always realize how much we love someone when we lose them.
"I now pronounce you, husband and husband!" The officiant looked up at the grooms and everyone started clapping as they shared a long kiss. The party was about to begin.
The cheers and applause were still ringing in Jisung's ears as he and Minho made their way down the aisle, hand in hand, faces glowing with happiness. The garden around them was alive with the vibrant colors of blooming flowers, and the air was filled with the scent of roses and lavender. Guests followed them towards the reception area, where tables were set up under twinkling fairy lights and the soft hum of conversation created a warm and inviting atmosphere.
As the newlyweds arrived at the reception, they were greeted with more applause and joyous shouts. Jisung felt like he was floating on a cloud, the reality of their marriage just beginning to sink in. He and Minho exchanged a quick, meaningful glance before they were swept into the crowd of well-wishers.
Jisung moved from group to group, thanking everyone for coming and soaking in their happiness. He stopped to talk to his old high school friends, who were eager to share their memories and congratulate him. Their laughter was infectious, and Jisung found himself reminiscing about their carefree days.
He then made his way to a table where his aunts and uncles were seated. They pulled him into tight hugs, and his Aunt Mary couldn't stop gushing about how beautiful the ceremony was. "You two looked absolutely perfect," she said, wiping away a tear. Jisung smiled warmly, feeling her genuine affection.
At the buffet table, Jisung was intercepted by Minho's college friends. They handed him a drink and insisted on a toast. They shared hilarious stories of Minho's antics during their university days, making Jisung laugh until his sides hurt. It was heartwarming to see how much they adored Minho, and he felt a deeper connection with them.
The evening progressed, and Jisung found himself with his parents. His father clapped him on the back with a proud smile, while his mother held his hand, her eyes sparkling with tears of joy. "You've grown into such a wonderful man, Jisung," she said, her voice thick with emotion. He hugged her tightly, feeling the weight of her words and the depth of her love.
As he moved through the guests, he kept looking around for Minho, expecting to see him mingling or perhaps indulging in a slice of their wedding cake. But each time, he didn't spot his husband. He shrugged it off at first, assuming Minho was caught up in conversations like he was.
Jisung then joined a circle of their mutual friends, laughing and chatting animatedly. They toasted to love, to new beginnings, and to the future. As they talked, Jisung's gaze kept drifting over the crowd, searching for that familiar face. He excused himself and headed towards the dessert table, hoping to find Minho there.
But Minho was not there, nor was he on the dance floor, where couples swayed to a soft, romantic tune. Jisung's heart began to race slightly as he made his way to their family tables, thinking Minho might be sharing a moment with his parents. Still, there was no sign of him.
Frowning, Jisung weaved through the guests, his earlier euphoria now tinged with a hint of worry. He checked the photo booth, the garden paths, even the small, quiet spots where someone might go to catch their breath. But Minho was nowhere to be found.
