Changbin and Minho were partners for two years now, sharing the responsibility of driving the truck, allowing them to cover more ground in less time. This was a decision made from both of them with only one thing in mind -more time with their families.

Both of them had one beautiful daughter and a beautiful wife waiting for them at home, except that Changbin had a teenage boy who always wanted to go on a drive with him. And these were their reasons to choose each other for a teammate, because both of them knew the struggle.

But those drives sometimes lasted months and sometimes they didn't hear their families for days. With that, the two of them stuck in the same truck allowed them to get to know each other. And now they were almost like a family.

Minho stirred in his seat, blinking away the remnants of sleep. As he looked out the window, the soft light of dawn was beginning to paint the sky. He stretched, feeling the slight stiffness in his limbs from the long journey.

"Good morning," he said, his voice still groggy from sleep.

Changbin glanced over from the driver's seat, a smile playing on his lips. "Morning. Sleep well?"

Minho nodded, settling back into his seat with a yawn. "Yeah, better than expected. How long have you been driving?"

"Couple of hours," Changbin replied, his eyes returning to the road ahead. "We're making good time."

Minho rubbed his eyes, trying to fully wake up. "Any plans for breakfast?"

Changbin chuckled. "There's a diner a few kilometers up the road. Figured we could stop there."

"Sounds good to me," Minho said, reaching for a water bottle and taking a sip. He glanced at the dashboard. "How's the fuel looking?"

"We're good for now. I'll top up when we stop," Changbin replied, his tone casual but focused.

Minho turned his gaze back to the window, watching the scenery pass by. "The sunrise is nice."

Changbin nodded, a small smile on his face. "Yeah, it is. Helps keep me awake, too."

After a few moments of comfortable silence, Minho spoke again. "Thanks for taking the night shift. I know it's not easy."

Changbin shrugged, still smiling. "No problem. We've got to get these deliveries done on time. Plus, I don't mind the quiet hours."

Minho leaned back in his seat, feeling more awake. "Alright, let me know if you need a break. I can take over whenever."

"Will do," Changbin said, giving him a thumbs up. "But for now, just relax. We've got a long day ahead."

For a while they didn't speak at all. Minho grabbed his phone.

"It's Yuna's birthday today?" Changbin asked. There was silence. "I wish the diner has Wi-Fi so you could call her." He continued.

"We will see."

"What about your birthday?" Changbin asked him. It was twenty-second october and it was now more than clear that Minho's birthday was going to be celebrated just by the two of them on the road.

"We can go eat something together." Minho shrugged. "We will see..."

The truck rumbled into the parking lot of the small diner, the neon sign flickering in the early morning light. Changbin parked the truck and turned off the engine, stretching his arms over his head.
