Months had passed, and though Hyunjin was still recovering, his resilience was undeniable. He walked with difficulty, but today was special. They were seated in a beautiful restaurant with an even more stunning garden, sampling cakes for their wedding. In the distance, two bodyguards stood watchful, their presence a quiet reminder of the life they led. But today, Minho and Hyunjin were focused only on each other.
"I like this one more," Hyunjin whispered, his smile soft as he pointed to a slice of cake in front of him.
"The blueberry one?" Minho asked, glancing between the cake and Hyunjin. When Hyunjin nodded, Minho chuckled, still trying to grasp that they were finally planning the wedding they'd dreamed of.
"With the black frosting on top," Hyunjin added, "because you said you wanted it to match the theme..."
Minho blinked, surprised. "Wait, you heard that?"
Hyunjin's smile widened. "I heard everything."
Minho sat back, his heart skipping a beat. "So you..."
"Mhm," Hyunjin confirmed, nodding slightly. "I heard you crying for me. Every word." His eyes darkened for a moment, but his smile stayed. "And you also told me you were going to kill him."
Minho froze, caught off guard by the calmness in Hyunjin's voice. He had never imagined Hyunjin had heard all that—his breakdowns, his desperate moments, his darkest thoughts.
Hyunjin reached across the table, taking Minho's hand gently. "You don't have to explain," he said quietly. "I know why you did what you did."
Minho's grip tightened on Hyunjin's hand. "I—" He hesitated, searching for words, but Hyunjin's soft smile stopped him.
"You saved me," Hyunjin whispered, his voice a little strained but full of love. "That's what matters."
Minho swallowed the knot in his throat, the heaviness of the memories easing with each passing moment. He looked at Hyunjin, who, despite the challenges, still radiated strength and love.
"I don't regret anything," Minho said softly. "Except maybe how scared I was of losing you."
Hyunjin leaned closer, his smile unwavering. "You didn't lose me."
And just like that, with a simple slice of cake in front of them and the future stretching out, Minho felt hope again.
As Minho stood at the altar, waiting for Hyunjin, his eyes briefly scanned the room, taking in the faces of those closest to him. To his right, Felix—his younger brother—stood tall, his dark suit tailored sharply to match the occasion. Felix's expression was calm but warm, his eyes radiating pride. He had been through so much with Minho, watching him change, struggle, and finally find love in Hyunjin.
The first one Minho called when Hyunjin gave him his phone back was Felix. He knew how much Felix would've been worried and yes, he was worried. But after that call, Felix was way calmer. Hyunjin had promised to take him out one day when he's with Hyunjin. But before that day happened, Hyunjin took Minho to the gallery.
For Felix, today wasn't just about witnessing his brother's wedding; it was about witnessing Minho's happiness finally there and complete, something he hadn't seen in so long.
