It was already dark when Noé woke up, a bit confused as to why he was there. Then he remember, thanks to a little weight on his shoulder.

Hold on, a weight on his shoulder?

Noé suddenly noticed Vanitas leaning onto his shoulder, still napping.
He was surprised. Vanitas didn't quite enjoy physical touch, however he recently noticed that he'd gotten less careful with him. He was starting to trust him and getting used to letting his guard down in his presence.

'I don't want to wake him up, but I want the warmth of my bed...' he thought, and then proceeded to cautiously lean him down, sliding away from that position.

Then he got into their room and layed on his bed, as he was still a bit sleepy and it was already late at night.

The next morning...

Vanitas woke up on the roof, alone. He thought that he would find Noé there with him, but he wasn't. He checked their room. Noé wasn't there.
He went downstairs and asked Miss Amelia, who was watering some flowers.

"Good morning, Mademoiselle Amelia. Have you seen Noé?"
Amelia turned around.

"Oh! Good morning, Monsieur Vanitas. Monsieur Noè left some time ago."

"Huh? Really?"

"Yeah...I think he mentioned he had to meet a friend...at a café? Could it be?"

Vanitas was a little pissed off, but he knew exactly where the vampire went. Because he suggested him to ask a certain someone about 'Love' if he needed more information.

"I see...did he eat something before going out..?"

Amelia thought about it for a second, then she realized.
"Actually, I think he didn't. But he's gone to a café so...well I mean he's gonna eat something there I assume?"

'He forgets to eat when he's too focused on something, stupid vampire' Vanitas thought to himself, then groaned and facepalmed.

He was still wearing yesterday's clothes, so he didn't change and zoomed out the door in search of his friend.

Meanwhile...

Noé was walking towards a café, where he knew he would find the person he was looking for.
He was there. Roland Fortis. The paladin of the chausseurs. But no one other  than his friend, as strange as it sounds.

"Hello, Monsieur Roland!" Noé waved at him.

Roland was caught by surprise, meanwhile Olivier, who was sitting in front of him, almost chocked on his coffee.

"Careful, Olivier. Hello, my dear friend! What brings you here?" He said with a bright smile.

"Oh...well I..." Noé was feeling quite shy at the thought, but he managed to spit out an actual sentence.
"I wanted to talk to you about something"

Roland was now curious, Olivier was sipping his coffee, also interested in the matter.

"I...well, I heard you kinda gave advice to Vanitas...about something..."

Roland started smiling, knowing exactly what that was about.

"Yes, you heard right. I did give him some sort of advice...so, why did you come to meet me? Is it for the same reason?"

Noé started to panic, even though he didn't really know why.

"Oh nono it's nothing like that...well...no, it isn't, is it..? Oh god" He grabbed a chair and sat down at their table, head in his hands.

Olivier chuckled, Roland looked at him menacingly then he sighed.

"I feel like I'm getting a déjà-vu" Olivier said.

Noé looked at both of them, but he could imagine what he meant with that.

"If I told you that lately I've been observing a bit too much someone, what would you think?" Noé asked, cautious not to say names, even though it was quite obvious.

The chausseurs looked at each other, Olivier took another sip from his cup, then Roland spoke.

"I'd think that maybe you're interested in that person." Roland nonchalantly took a bite from the cake in his plate.

"But...it doesn't make sense! Why now of all times??" Noé started doubting himself. "I mean it's true that I've always been fascinated by the blue moon and all, and that I want to find out more about him, and that being in his company makes me happy, and that I like when he tells me more about himself, and that my chest feels weird if he talks about someone else like he did the other day and...Oh."

Noé suddenly felt the urge to bury himself 6 feet under the ground.
Roland looked at Olivier, expecting him to say something to the guy.

"I'd say you're pretty obsessed with Vanitas."

At those words both Roland and Noé widened their eyes, the vampire for the embarrassment and the chausseur to scold his companion.

"What? I said what everyone was thinking." Was his excuse.
Noé was now lost in his thoughts, so Roland and Olivier started whispering.

"You really had to be that straightforward? He's just started figuring things out, you dumbass!"

"Yeah, and?"

"And?? He needs more time!"

"Yeah well someone had to tell him."

"But maybe not like this!"

Olivier noticed someone in the distance running towards them.

"Wait, hold on...is that Vanitas?"

Roland turned around to look, then he smiled.
"The one and only, yes."

Noé snapped back to reality as he heard that name, then he turned around just to see an angry Vanitas some meters away from him.

"Vanitas!?"

"Yes, hello idiot. What did you think you were doing running away like that?!"

"Hello, my dear friend Vanitas! Such a nice surprise having you here. How are you doing?" Roland butted in, as always.

Vanitas squared him up and down. "uh...good...thank you..." He answered him then switched to Noé.

"I was saying, why did you left so soon without eating anything, Noé?!?"

Noé felt a bit of shame, he didn't realize he hadn't eaten anything from the day before because he was too focused on solving his doubts, but he still managed to maintain eye contact with the human.

"I'm sorry, Vanitas. I didn't mean to make you worry."

Vanitas jumped back.
"And who says I'm worried, huh?! You idiot! I came here because Mademoiselle Amelia told me!"

He lied. He was worried, but he didn't want the others to know.

"Geez, calm down. Then why were you running?" Noé asked with a questioning and offended look.

Vanitas just scoffed and crossed his arms, turning around.
Meanwhile, the two chausseurs were enjoying the little scene.

"Alright, guys! Well, now that we're all here then why don't we all go for a walk?" Roland proposed, while Olivier looked at him like he was ready to kill him on the spot. The guy didn't really like the way Roland showed interest in that strange duo. Especially since one of them was a vampire and the other potentially had the power to rewrite the entire universe.

Despite this and Vanitas' questionable frenemies-like relationship with Roland, the four of them enjoyed a relaxing, well maybe not really relaxing since Noé kept disappearing, walk along the Seine.
