Kaylee's P.O.V.

When Jessie woke up to find me still alive and breathing, she freaked out. She covered me with (painful)hugs and tons of tears. It took Cameron to pry her off of me, and she didn't go easily.

I stayed in the hospital until I was finally freed after three weeks.

I hobbled out on my cast and crutches, still getting used to them. I cursed as I realized I didn't have a ride when a horn beeped. I turned and saw a truck, and in the front seat was a grinning Shaun. I started to make my way over to him, when he hopped out of the car and ran over to me.

I squeaked as he scooped me up into his arms, and then brought me over to his car. I unlatched the door and opened it for him, and then he set me inside.

"Can I sign it?" He asked pointing at my bright yellow cast. I smiled and nodded my head. He reached around me and grabbed a sharpie out of the counsel. I couldn't help but swoon a little at how GOOD he smelled. Like axe.

Then he pulled away and bent down over my knee. As he wrote he asked, "So where are your parents?" My face heated up slightly at the question. "Um, well...they're over in Europe on a business trip right now," I said playing with frayed edge of my shorts.

Shaun looked up at me. "Didn't they come home when they heard you got hurt?" I shook my head, "No, this is a really important trip. They did call me though. It's fine, I've got my little sister, Savannah, at home." Shaun frowned as he looked down and finished writing, "How old is she?" I chewed my lip, "She's seven." At this Shaun's head snapped up and he met my eyes. He looked angry and I said hurriedly, "Don't worry. Savannah is very mature for her age, and I only have a few things I have to do for her. I'm fine."

Shaun gave me a skeptical look then put the lid back on the sharpie. He threw it back into the counsel, then went over to the driver side.

Honestly, way deep down inside, even if I wouldn't admit it, it did bother me.

My mom and dad were cofounders of one of the biggest electronic companies in the nation. They would leave for months at a time, leaving me home with Savannah. Most of the time without any notice.

They had been doing this since I was nine and Savannah was a baby. My parents stopped getting nannies for her by the time I was thirteen, and I was forced into acting like a mom before I even started high school.

Even when my parents were home, I barely saw them.

But what bothered me the most was the fact that even when their own daughter was on the verge of death, they wouldn't come home. They called me once I woke up long enough to make sure I was alive, then left again.

I was used to it though. I was just worried about what would happen to Savannah once I was off to college.

We pulled into the driveway of my huge house and I saw a small sign on the door that said in seven-year-old handwriting, "Welcome Back Kay." I smiled and climbed out of the car. I said thank you quickly to Shaun, then began to crutch myself towards the door.

Before I could get there, a small blonde topped, tutu wearing ball burst out the door. I bent down the best I could to hug my little sister. "You're back Kay Kay!" Savannah's shrill voice said happily. I smiled as Savannah began to walk around me examining my cast.

"It's a pretty color," she concluded, her big blue eyes gazing up at me. I smiled and grabbed her pigtails, "You wanna sign it? I bet pink will show up." Savannah's face lit up and she dashed back into the house. I smiled and began to hobble in after her, when I was lifted off my feet for the second time that day.

I looked over and was met with blue eyes and curly, sandy brown hair.

Shaun carried me into the house and set me down on a chair in our lavish living room. This was the one my mom used for show, the one Savannah and I used was upstairs.

Savannah darted back into the room, and stared, mouth wide open, at Shaun.

"Who's this?" She huffed, crossing her arms and pouting her lip. "This is Shaun, he's the boy who saved me," I said, blushing ever so slightly.

Immediately, Savannah's whole demeanor changed. She grinned, ran up and threw her tiny little arms around his waist. "Thank you for saving my Kay Kay," Savannah said seriously, staring up at him with her big blue orbs. Shaun knelt down and smiled, "Anytime." Savannah grinned, then ran over to me with her pink sharpie. "Where should I sign?" She asked scrunching up her little face thoughtfully.

I pointed to my shin, "How about right there, then everyone can see your name." Her face lit up and she immediately began to carefully spell her name out on my leg.

As she did so, Shaun sat down next to me. "So this is your sister?" He asked quietly. I nodded and looked down.

His hand fell lightly on my lower back and he said, "So you're taking care of her?" I nodded, abashed.

He said quietly, "Then I'm going to help." Before I could reply, he stood up and asked, "Do you want pizza Savannah?" She looked up from my cast and shrieked, "Yeah! I almost never have pizza!" Shaun raised an eyebrow at me and I said quickly, "I try to make sure we have healthy, balanced diets that-" but Savannah cut me off and said, "Kay Kay makes me eat healthy food all the time!" I stuck my tongue out at her, and she stuck hers out at me.

Shaun laughed and said, "Okay, I'll go order a pizza." He started to walk out of the room and Savannah shouted after him, "Get it extra cheesy!" And as an after-thought she added, "And make sure to order grape soda! It's my favorite!"

I groaned as Shaun gave her a thumbs up. I was going to have a hyper-active child for the next hour who would then crash in the weirdest place.

Savannah went back to her name drawing, and she hummed happily to herself. As she did so I checked my phone. I had a couple of get better soon messages.

"Is he your new boyfriend?" Savannah asked suddenly. I looked up at her and said gently, "No, he's the one who saved me from my old boyfriend. My old boyfriend was the one who did this to me." Savannah wrinkled her nose, "I never liked him. He scared me and he always smelled bad. Did you break up with him?"

I hesitated, "I think our relationship is finished." Savannah nodded her head and said, "So are you going to go out with this guy. He has cute hair and he's really nice. Plus, he smells really good." I laughed and said, "I'm thinking I'm not going to go out with anyone right now. Shaun is nice though." Savannah pouted and said, "Does that mean Shaun has to go?" I smiled and moved a wisp of hair behind her ear, "He says he might be around a bit to help. So I guess he can stay."

Savannah smiled and nodded. Then I finally looked down at where Shaun had signed. It was right above where Savannah's name started.

I carefully read it upside-down. I smiled slightly. It said, "Get better soon Kaylee. With love, the guy who is always happy to take a punch for you.

Two chapters two days in a row? Woah! Well, I wanted to make this one a bit lighter and happier. I hope you liked it. My previous offer still stands, I just don't feel like typing it or even going back to copy it. Laziness! Peace
