Oh my goodness graciousness! Guess what! This book is now #643 in humor, and it's all thanks to you guys. I felt so happy, that I just wrote another chapter, and...well...I didn't feel like studying for my Biology final on Tuesday. But forget about that! You guys are amazing! Over 6,000 reads, 200 votes, and 100 comments! Yay!
I'm sorry for switching the title, cover, and summary on you guys, but I, and a lot of you, were thinking it was time for a bit of change. So, tell me what you think of them :)
I would like to dedicate this chapter to @BaybeMoala for her hilarious comment awhile ago. It made my day girl ;).
Here's the chapter you've all been waiting for. Duh, duh, duh, duh!
Cameron's P.O.V.
I couldn't bring Jessie her earring the next day because I had work, and when I got off I had to go home and watch the boys.
On Sunday though I headed over to her house, but found it empty. I drove back across town to Kaylee's house and rang the doorbell. The door opened and I was met with Shaun's little brother, Johnny. "Hey bud," I said ruffling his hair as he drank a grape Juicy Juice. "Are Shaun or Kaylee home?" He nodded and said, "Yeah, we are watching Mulan." I nodded and stepped inside the large house. I slid off my shoes and followed Johnny up the stairs into Kaylee's living room. Savanah, Kaylee, and Shaun were all sitting on the beanbags in the room eating carrot sticks and drinking juice boxes. Even Shaun.
I clapped my hand on Shaun's shoulder and he looked up, startled. But when he saw it was me, he grinned and clapped me back on the shoulder and said, "Hey man, what are you doing here?" I sat down next to him as Johhny went back over by Savannah. "Just here looking for Jessie. She left something at the dance and I have to return it."
Shaun wiggled his eyebrows at me and said, "Oh, of course you're not here to see me, you're best friend. You're looking for Jessie." I smacked his arm and said, "Yeah, well I'm not the one who's gone so far that I'm eating carrot sticks and juice boxes." Shaun shrugged and said, "Well it's for the kids, plus they're healthy." I laughed and said, "Okay, man." Then I turned to Kaylee who had been watching our conversation with an amused expression on her face. "Do you know where Jessie would be?"
Kaylee shrugged and said, "She might be at work at the library or tutoring at the school. Those are her normal jobs on weekends."
"Thanks, I'll go see if I can find her."
After saying goodbye to the kids I ran out of the door and headed to the school first, which was nearest. The front doors were unlocked, and after about a half hour of asking around, I was told that the tutoring took place in the library. Obviously. Why hadn't I just gone there first?
I took the stairs down to the basement, and walked along the long, creepy hallway that was only half lit, until I got to the library. I went up to the front desk and asked, "Is Jessie tutoring today?" The librarian shook her head and said, "No, not until tomorrow." I nodded and said, "Thank you."
Then I ran back along the long, barely lit, creepy hallway, up the stairs that never seemed to end and made me question my apparent athleticism, and through the school back to my car. I jumped in, started it up and drove over to the library.
When I walked in the silent atmosphere pressed in on my ears, making me tread lightly on my wet, squeaking tennis shoes. I walked up to the front desk where an old lady in half rimmed glasses with eyeglass cords wrapping back around her head her head was sitting. When she saw me approaching she raised an eyebrow, and with a feeling of great embarrassment I realized that she was the one had a special talent for catching me making out with girls in the newspaper archives.
