Dragging Jungkook in my line of work was the last thing I wanted. Looking at him, I couldn't help but fall for him more seeing how he didn't hesitate and now regardless of always being bound by rules, he was driving above the speed limit. The location I was given wasn't far from here, but I was still scared if I would get late by a minuscule of time.

"We are here." Jungkook announced as he stopped the car at the destination I had set in the GPS. The area was surrounded by newly constructed buildings with no residents yet hence it was empty and no one around. The only source of light was the streetlamps illuminating an orange hue on the surroundings. The area was well chosen by that man. No one around to help if he decides to kill someone here and with the dim night light, it would be hard to even spot anything clearly.

I couldn't let Jungkook get involved with this anymore. "Jungkook, anything happens out there, stay in the car." He looked like he was going to retort so I spoke again. "Please? It's dangerous outside, I don't even know how many there are. Yun-sae is here already but I have no idea where she is, or Yeonjun. If anything, call me in case, you see any one suspicious around you. And once again, do not come out of the car."

He nodded at last, and I could only hope he will listen to me as I got off the car, taking one last glance at him before walking towards the backside of the buildings. It was pin drop silence around me as I clutched my gun in my hand for safety measure. The complex was surrounded by a boundary wall high enough making it impossible for someone to climb and jump on it. There were still some constructions material kept here like rods and sacks of sand and cement.

I turned to left, so I was now walking in the gap between two twenty-four story buildings. This area had no light lamps, so I had to rely on the light coming from the light lamps in the front of the building. This place was also remote with no clue about anyone's presence. By now I was starting to doubt the location. Maybe they gave the wrong location.

But just then I heard the sound of a gunshot which made me halt, following the shots getting fired a scream was heard. It was a high pitch, that of a woman. I quickly leaped in my feet and ran in the direction of the sound. It sounded like it was to my right, which means on the other side of the building I was standing at.

I knew Yun-sae was here, but the scream wasn't hers. It was of a woman with a higher pitch. While running towards the gap from where the scream came from, I tripped when I was turning and stumbled on the cemented rough ground. I could only hope my pants aren't ripped on my knees.

I was pulling myself up when suddenly someone shouted, "DON'T MOVE OR I WILL KILL HER!" It made me halt on my position back on the ground, on my knees. What a fucking luck. I raised my head up only to gasp in shock at the scene in front of me. Right by my side was a man, Choi Sangchan, the murderer we were searching for laying in the pool of his own blood. And in front of me was Yun-sae at a gun point by a woman who I am guessing is the girlfriend he supposedly ran away with.

"Okay....I don't know who you are, you are not the one we were searching. We are looking for him, Choi Sangchan." I tried talking to her; to make her lower her guard or this might get a lot messy. "We mean no harm to you-"

"Do you take me for a fucking fool!? You all killed him!!! You will kill me too!!" Killed him? She seemed scared which was dangerous considering she might actually shoot Yun-sae out of agitation. I tried again to take her attention away. "No one will harm you if you put the gun down, you can be our witness and tell us what happened."

At that moment Yun-sa seemed to be hinting towards something behind them. I looked at her again as she slightly tilted her head back then looked behind her. Behind them was a silhouette of a man standing a bit far, but due to the darkness I couldn't make out who the man was.

"Y-YOU! YOU ALL KILLED HIM IN FRONT OF ME!! WHY DID YOU KILL SANGCHAN?!" The woman yelled again but this time she turned around to face the unknown man standing at the very back. I probably won't get a better chance than this so without any delay I took an aim and shot her hand that was holding the gun.

"FUCK!! FUCKK!! Y-YOU WILL KI-KILL ME TO--ummphh!!" The woman cried out loudly as she fell on the road, holding her bloodied arm only for Yun-sae to tie her mouth with the scarf she was wearing. "Shut up, bitch, or I might as well actually kill you out of frustration!!" The woman's cries were muffled with the cloth as Yun-sae twisted her hands behind her back to cuff them. Once she was done, she shoved her aside and stood up, dusting her clothes. I won't complain since the woman's voice was actually loud and irritating.

Right then, the unknown silhouette of man walked out of darkness, and I could finally see their face. "Yeonjun??" I turned to Yun-sae. "You brought him here with you? Yun-sae it's not even a week since he has joined and," I took a look at the young officer, his posture seemed stiff and shaken. I approached him and noticed there was a gun in his hand. I quickly connected the dots.

"Yeonjun, did you shoot Sangchan?" He blinked at me rapidly before looking at Yun-sae then back at me. "I-sir...he-he was going to shoot at officer Yun...i-it was sel-" I patted on his back, stopping his stuttering of words. I understood it was his first time out on a case, and shooting at someone, it was normal to be scared and nervous. I flashed him a smile, "I understand, I was also like you on my first case and...my first shoot too. I actually shot the wrong person instead so; you are a lot better than me."

At this he cracked a smile and nodded, putting his gun back in the holster. I turned back to the woman who was now silently glaring at us. The bullet has just grazed her arm, so it wasn't fatal. "So, I think this case is almost solved unless this woman here refuses to cooperate." She threw me a glance and jerked her head to other side showing her hostility regarding the case. Right then Yun-sae swung her arm slapping her square on her face, which made her whimper and turn back in my direction.

"Even her bloody ancestors will cooperate."

Well, it's good to have a woman working with you.

"Uh- sir, I have called the ambulance and prisoner transport. They are on the way." Hearing Yeonjun I was reminded of my own transport. "Good- uh wait here, I will be back in a minute."

I quickly jogged out of there to the exit where Jungkook's car was parked. As expected, he was still there in his car, talking on his phone. When he saw me running to him, he quickly got out of the car making me smile.

"Are you fine?? I heard a gunshot going off and I was so scared I tho-" I had no time to say anything. Just as I reached him, I threw myself to him, wrapping my hands around his neck. My cold lips met his warm ones, and I felt that warmth spreading through my body in instant when his hands hooked on my waist pulling me close. I melted against him as he kissed me with so much softness like I was a flower, so delicate. His touch feels like he treasures me in a way no one ever had. So valuable, irreplaceable.

"Hey, lovebug." His voice on my lips sounds dreamy, unreal. I peel my eyes open and found him already staring at me. "What happened?" Even I don't know the answer. "I was feeling cold." And it's true. I don't like darkness and winter. They both give me a gloomy, negative feel. His hands around me tightened as he pulled me closer, his one hand on the back of my head as he pressed me against is body. "Then stay close to me, I will keep you warm."

That you do. But I don't say it out loud and snuggle more in the warmth.

We stayed like that for I don't know how much time when I heard the sirens coming close. The ambulance and prisoner van were here. As much as I didn't want to, I had to pull away. "Time to go?" He asked as he noticed me pulling my hands away. I nodded to his question knowing I was going to have a long night ahead in the station.

"I am sorry...I made you wait here and now..." I was feeling bad and selfish for making him wait here out in cold, all for myself and now I had to go leaving him alone. He suddenly cupped my face and made me look up at him. "Lovebug, you don't have to be sorry. I admire your passion and consistency towards your job and how seriously you take every task. It's hot if you ask me."

Can he be any more perfect? I just want to wed him right now; I can't do this dating phase.
