Chapter: 48

The small party of six stood at the docks of Lotus Cove. Wei (Y/n) smiled at the familiarity of the scene as it brought a sense of serenity to her. Her three disciples looked around in wonder as it was the first time they had come to another sect. Lan Lifen was beaming with happiness, it had been too long in her opinion.

Lan Xichen subtly took Wei (Y/n)'s hand leading her ahead, as he was worried for her health, with Lan Lifen walking in front of them and (Y/n)'s disciples followed them like baby ducklings, looking around with awestruck faces.

As soon as the main residence was in sight, she could make out three figures standing there.

Madame Yu, Jiang Cheng and Jiang Yanli. Wei (y/n) smiled picking up her pace to reach them.

Madame Yu smiled brightly pulling her in a hug and patting her back softly "Welcome A-(Y/n)." She said smiling when she pulled back slightly.

In the meanwhile Lan Xichen and Jiang Cheng exchanged greetings. Wei (Y/n) smiled and hugged her sister who stood next to Madame Yu. "Shijie! Its lovely to have you here as well." She said and Jiang Yanli chucked.

"Indeed, its lovely to meet up together." Yanli smiled pulling back.

Wei (Y/n) smiled at Jiang Cheng "How have you been A-Cheng?" She asked softly and the male smiled as well. "I've been well Da-Jie. How about you? Have you settled well?" He asked making the woman chuckle and nod, Lan Xichen quietly observed the scene with a smile on his face.

"Yes. I'm well and I've settled." She smiled and the male nodded in satisfaction. "Who are they?" Jiang Cheng asked as his eyes fell on the three young disciples following his sister.

The three felt a little self conscious under Jiang Cheng's stare and Wei (Y/n) smiled looking at the three, easing them immediately. "They are my disciples." She said as she motioned them to introduce themselves.

The three did as they were told, introducing themselves one at a time. After they had introduced themselves Madame Yu smiled "That's good you took them under your wing." She smiled and Wei (Y/n) reciprocated the smile.

"I think we should head inside we've been standing here for quite a while." At Jiang Yanli's words they all chuckled walking inside. Wei (Y/n) looked at her disciples and smiled.

"If you want to go, you can to the market but be sure to be back before dark." She instructed and Yufei and Zhaolei beamed looking at her with big smiles, while QiuJian only hummed, excitement visible in his grey irises.

"Mother can I go as well?" Lan Lifen asked and Wei (Y/n) looked at her for a moment before turning to her disciples. "Look after your Meimei." At her words the three of them saluted. Lan Lifen also saluted her mother and other family members.

"We will return soon." Lan Xichen pat her head softly. "Be careful all of you." He said and They all nodded before leaving the main residence to go to the market with a skip in their step.

"Is Wei Ying not coming?" She asked and Jiang Yanli smiled shaking her head. "He'll be here soon. You know he's always late." Jiang Cheng said rolling his eyes and Wei (Y/n) laughed. "That is true." 

"Let's have some tea first while we wait for Wei Ying." Madame Yu said and they all nodded. They went to a table set on a scheduled portion of the Residence and sat down. Lan Xichen was on one side of Wei (Y/n) while on the other was her sister.

Jinzhu and Yinzhu served them tea and some sweets. Wei (Y/n) smiled at them both. "How have you both been?" At her question the twin sisters smiled. "We've been well Madame Lan." Yinzhu answered and Jinzhu smiled as she placed the final plate on the table before both excused themselves.
