By the time Wei (Y/n) and Wei Lifen made it back to Lotus Pier, it was already Late in the evening. The bustling crowd on the docks had lessened but the vendors still seemed to have the same energy. (Y/n) walked briskly holding Lifen's hand but her mind was troubled a bit. She had two options to consider in the 'letter' case.

One was that she would confront Madam Yu about it. She was sure if she asked about the letter, the Older woman would question her and she doubted herself whether she could answer without blushing or stuttering. Also, her brother will definitely pester her. The Second Option was to play oblivious to the whole situation until it was brought up. Then she would be able to answer. After thinking it over a few times she was clear of the choice she would make.

When she entered the main building but no disciples were in sight as it was late in the evening. A few servants greeted her as she passed them and she nodded with a neutral face. Lifen let go of her hand and ran inside the main hall. (Y/n) could hear her as she greeted them all. Wei (Y/n) herself entered to be met with smiles from her family members. She greeted all of them and sat down next to Wei Ying. "How did the meeting go A-(Y/n)?" Madame Yu questioned and (Y/n) nodded with a smile. "It went well."

Jiang Cheng looked at her with a small smile. "You should rest (Y/n)-Jie. We can discuss it after dinner." He said with concern and the slightly older female smiled. "Come now A-Cheng, you know I can travel more than that without resting but I still thank Sect Leader for his concern." She answered though her voice carried light humor as she looked at him making him flush slightly and Wei Ying laughed. "Now Now A-(Y/n), he is right. Don't be like that." Yanli chided and she nodded laughing lightly.

"I know Shijie. It is just fun to mess with him." She answered through chuckles, Jiang Cheng huffed "Wei Ying is rubbing off on you (Y/n)-Jie.." He said and Wei Ying looked at him with a mock shocked and hurt expression. "Jiang Cheng!" He wailed and Madam Yu looked at them with fondness, wishing her husband was there with her to witness this time of peace and happiness.

"Go now A-(Y/n) take Lifen too. Have some rest. I'll send someone to call you for dinner." She said with a small smile and the said female nodded. "Come on A-Fen." She called her daughter who got off Yanli's lap and skipped towards her mother. She waved at them and walked out with (Y/n).

"Do you think she knows?" Wei Ying asked when (Y/n) was out of earshot and looked at Madame Yu who shook her head. "I don't think so. We'll discuss it after dinner. But Her choice is important, no one will force her if she doesn't want it." She explained to Wei Ying with a small smile. "(Y/n) never saw our parents... Not once... I just want her to be happy." Wei Ying said as he looked at the door from where (Y/n) had gone out from.

"A-Xian, I know she--" Yanli cut herself off before anyone could notice what she was about to say and smiled at him. Jiang Cheng also looked at Wei Ying. "(Y/n)-Jie will choose what is best. We leave the decision up to her as Mother said." He said and Wei Ying nodded with a genuine smile. "I'm just worried for her." He mumbled after a while but no one took notice.

"Māma I don't wanna sleep!" Lifen whined and (Y/n) chuckled opening the door to her room. "Then don't, let me help you change out from these clothes." She said pointing at her clothes and Lifen nodded. When she had changed (Y/n) sat Lifen in front of her and began to undo her hair. "Māma don't take out the pin!" Lifen exclaimed and (Y/n) laughed. "Then how can I straighten your hair?" She asked and Lifen pouted. "I'll put it back in after doing your hair. Alright?" Lifen nodded to her words and sat still.

After a moment of peaceful silence, Lifen slightly turned her head to look at (Y/n). "Māma..." She trailed off and Wei (Y/n) nodded her head. "Can we not live in Gusu forever?" Her question was innocent. As a child, she didn't know better but (Y/n) still found herself delving deep in her mind. If only we get together...I hope nothing bad happens...(Y/n) thought with a small sigh and smiled at her daughter. "Who knows? Time will answer best." She said and Lifen looked lost for a moment before nodding even if she didn't understand what her mother meant.

"Now I'll be going to my room. Rest." Wei (Y/n) said as she got up after she had finished doing her hair. She entered her room and opted to first change out from the robes into fresh ones. After she had changed she sat in front of the mirror and started to brush her hair. Her eyes fell on the small wooden box in front of her and she smiled lightly. Putting down the comb she picked it up and opened it taking out the beautifully crafted pin.

She grazed her hand over it gently as if even a slight pressure would break it. Her thoughts once again wandered to the person who gave her this. Her hand tingled lightly, she could still feel his hold on it. "I just cannot wait to bring Uncle there and make it official." His words reverberated in her mind and her heart began to speed up.

She put down the pin when she heard knocking on the door. She put her hair up simply using the jade lotus pin and opened the door. "Dinner is ready, Hexia-zun." The female servant informed and (Y/n) nodded stepping out and closing the door behind her. When she entered the hall Lifen was already there, sitting beside Wei Ying. (Y/n) offered them a small smile as she took her seat beside Lifen. Dinner began and Yanli passed them her famous soup. Lifen and Wei Ying brightened and began to eat immediately making all of them chuckle.

Dinner proceeded with occasional talk from all of them. Wei (Y/n) remembered and looked up. "I met Big Brother Xingchen." Wei Ying looked at her, "Xiao Xingchen?" He asked and (Y/n) nodded while the others just looked at them confused. Wei (Y/n) probably sensing their confusion smiled, "We were both sibling disciples under Master Baoshan."They nodded to her words and Wei Ying turned to his sister, "How is he?" To his question, Wei (Y/n) took a breath and looked down. "He is....well." She answered after a short while and Wei Ying nodded. No one questioned her further on the topic and went back to eating.

"Uncle said that maybe he'll come here someday!" Wei Lifen exclaimed with a bright smile and Wei (Y/n) smiled too. Wei Ying patted her head and his hand when he caught sight of the hairpin. "This Hairpin... Did you buy it on the trip?" Wei Ying asked Lifen and she smiled looking at him and nodded. "Zewu-Jun bought it for me! He gave Māma one too!" All eyes turned to (Y/n) who had choked on the soup and was now trying to keep the blush at bay. Wei Ying smirked "Oh did he now~?" He asked mischievously and Lifen nodded her head enthusiastically. "Mnhm!"

(Y/n) was still blushing and they all laughed quietly. Maybe they all knew the answer by now. Even if they hadn't asked her yet the flustered look on her face gave her away completely. After the dinner finished, Lifen was taken to her room by Yinzhu who was going to read her a book as per her request. They were all enjoying tea except Wei Wuxian who was drinking wine.

(Y/n) told them what she and Lan Xichen had discussed about the reforms and Jiang Cheng nodded making mental notes of what was done and what needed to be looked upon. After the whole 'Sect Business' was done, silence settled on the table. Wei Ying looked at Madame Yu and nodded silently agreeing to tell (Y/n).

"A-(Y/n)..." She called and the said girl looked up. "Remember before the attack on Lotus Cove, I said that I love you as much as I love Yanli. You are a daughter for me and I will always want the best for you..." Madame Yu started when she had (Y/n)'s attention. Wei (Y/n) nodded to her words with a smile. "Never think that I or anyone for that matter will force you to do anything..." She continued and (Y/n) nodded with a falsely lost look on her face initiating that she didn't know where this was headed when in fact she knew exactly where the topic was going.

"A letter arrived from Cloud Recesses." Madame Yu said and (Y/n) tilted her head. "A letter?" She asked and Madame Yu nodded with a small smile. "Yes... It arrived a day before you went there. But I didn't mention as not to burden you." She answered and (Y/n) nodded. "Okay. But what was it about?" She asked again and this time Wei Ying answered his sister. "It was from Elder Lan who... Asked for... Your hand in marriage... With Sect Leader Lan." He said with pauses for his sister to take in the information. (Y/n) widened her eyes for a moment before she looked down at the cup she was holding. A small smile etched on her face but no one noticed it.

Jiang Yanli put her hand on top of (Y/n)'s hand which was resting on the table. "A-(Y/n)... It's clear to us that you have feelings for Sect Leader and he for you. But if you still want time to think it is only natural... There's no need to rush." She said smiling and (Y/n) looked up. Her lips were pulled up in a smile as she looked at them. Wei Ying also put his hand on his shoulder and squeezed it lightly. "Whatever your decision is (Y/n)-Jie... It will be supported. Rest assured." Jiang Cheng assured her and (Y/n) shook her head fondly. "I know..... I have made my decision." She took a deep breath and answered.

"I accept their proposal.....I agree to marry Lan Huan."
