Sunday arrived. Diego and I collected Marissa and Eden from their apartment and headed to the car. I drove with Eden in the front seat while Diego and Marissa sat in the backseat. I wore a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers since it was my folks' house. Why the hell do I need to dress up to see my folks?

Eden, Marissa, and Diego wore shorts and a tee shirt. Diego would wear shorts all year round if he could get away with it. Due to the health code, Uncle Gabe and Paxton wouldn't allow it at the cafe. I don't blame them. Diego has hairy ass legs that would give a gorilla a run for its money.

I pulled into the driveway of my folks' house and noticed Uncle Ryden and Aunt Daria's car parked next to my dad's car. We got out and headed inside. Diego didn't waste time pouncing on his mom while mine tackled me. I groaned because my mother lacked self-restraint when she saw me. My dad had to peel my mom from me while Uncle Ryden sandwiched Diego between Aunt Daria and himself.

Once we got our greetings out of the way, I introduced Eden to my folks since she had already met my aunt and uncle. Marissa greeted everyone since they already knew her.

"Lunch will be ready in a few. Hang out and do whatever you do while you stay out of the kitchen," Uncle Ryden ordered before walking away.

We walked into the living room and sat on the couch while everyone spread out.

"So, how did you and Aiden meet?" Mom asked Eden.

"I met Aiden three years ago at a party. But I didn't run into him again until I moved across the hall from him and Diego," Eden said.

"How old are you, Eden?" Dad asked.

"Twenty-one. I'm Marissa's older cousin. Our dads are brothers."

Dad nodded in understanding since we work with Carmichael.

"What made you move into Aiden and Diego's building?" Mom asked.

"Funny story. My boyfriend of five years slept with my sister, and I caught them. Marissa mentioned Diego's apartment building had an available apartment to rent. So, I packed my shit and moved in. Then, Marissa became my roommate. But I signed a short-term lease since I got accepted to Saintwood College this fall," Eden said.

"Well, that's... I'm not sure what that is."

"Unexpected information?"

Mom pursed her lips for a minute before nodding. "Yeah, that's it."

"I've learned it's easier to tell the truth than lie. Sorry if I overstepped."

"There's no need to be sorry."

"You say that now. You should meet my parents."

"What do you mean?"

"They chose to support my sister's decision to sleep with my boyfriend over me."

My mom's brows lifted in surprise as Dad clenched his jaw.

"Are your parents stupid?" Aunt Daria asked.

We looked at Aunt Daria, knowing she had no filter. Eden stared at her with her mouth cracked.

"Who in their right mind would support a hoe for a daughter?"

"Daria," Mom said, trying to get Aunt Daria to stop talking.

"Sam, don't tell me you wouldn't smack her parents with a tool for their stupidity."

"We're not talking about me."

"Then agree with me and support Aiden's woman."

Diego and I exchanged glances, hoping Eden didn't bolt.
